for me personally, it was great because I love history for one, two, this is era I grew up in, and three I am a huge Mic fan. the history is interesting to say the least, particularly the back stories. also how closely related Mic and Flush are with CNN.

I am not a huge DC fan for some of the reasons you mentioned. mainly the talking over each other and then their line of questioning and noting of historical events/timelines is not concise. what they are some of the best at though is giving the background on the personal aspects connecting the street to the music.

Thank you. I checked some. Mic saying he lived next door to Marley Marl is a blessing.

It's like everyone in Queensbridge revered Marley.

I know how coli is...so what I am going to say is going to catch flack but this happens all the time. Its all about energy. If you know you know. Anyone perceived to take energy from another, it has to be dealt with. Its not about if Mic felt he was a threat to Nas or if Nas felt it either. I am not saying Nas blackballed him either. it wasnt petty shyt. The Firm was the next big thing. all parties involved, especially the labels cant have anything taking any luster away from that group. and Mic has ALWAYS been compared to Nas even though Coli seems to have no recollection of this. I remember after shyts Real video dropped, there was heavy anticipation for Mic and I am not sure if it was Source Unsigned Hype or Independent Corner but there was an article saying that Mic was a "baby Nas" this is before his deal with BLUNT and 20 sum years before Steve Stout even uttered it..

so if he is being compared to Nas, that is not a good look for Fox to come out and say Mic is her brother when she just met him a few minutes prior. Whether we admit it or not, if there was no Nas, Mic would be bigger. Thats not saying he was better. Just saying. Same as if BIG wouldnt have died, Jay wouldnt be where he is today. Jaz said Jay used to do this shyt too. They would bring Jaz in and put him on a record and only give him one take and let Jay come back and redo his verses. Not that Jaz was better but there can never be the perception that a lesser known rapper is outshining you on your own track. At least not back at that time it wasnt.

shyt happens in the music industry all the time, I can name dozens of examples...going from MJ-Prince, Mary J-Faith, etc....and lets not forget how R. Kelly had Jive shut Joe shyt down because he felt he was in his lane.

All facts, excellent post

Yeah, It sounded like he was making Nas guilty by association because of the Stoute connection more than, that he thinks Nas was personally doing it to him.
You do know during that era Nas was on some fukk shyt? Even Foxy referred to him as "King Cobra". I'm inclined to believe Nas was on some fukkery just based on his track record at the time.

Royal Flush is the type of man of everyone needs on his team. We see people that are close, but we've never seen that type on bond n camera yet. He knew how to console him, how to talk to him, reel him in when needed, lift his spirits when needed. That was touching.

Who was the other knock-off ONYX? they had the track on New Jersey Drive soundtrack
Hmmm I don't remember anyone from NJD SDTK that reminded me of Onyx but I remember the group Gang Green that had that joint with Fredro Starr and they were like Onyx clones. (Understandably so since X1 and Fredro's brother were both in the group).

Same with Nas and Jay, he won't let anyone badmouth them on his platform.

Flush was a bit annoying but he genuinely seemed to just be looking out for Mic. Was a very dope interview up until Mic got a bit too drunk.
Drinkchamps is, ironically, at it's best when they're all sober.

I agree. Cormega was sober and powerful.

Why did they have Cory Gunz with Mega on a Queens show?

Was Nore scared?

Cormega's debut on Drink Champs should have been only Cormega.

Maybe Nore couldn't handle only Cormega.

Took me two days to (almost) finish this episode...

I used to bump both Mic G and Royal Flush in my youth, crazy that this is like the first time I can recollect hearing someone interview Mic Geronimo (and Royal Flush too for that matter).
Mic sure does have a lot of things built up inside of him due to his time in the game. Maybe the cups of Ace and overload of Ciroc makes it seem more dramatic, maybe not. He has a lot of stuff on his mind, thats for sure.

The Pac stories was interesting, the stuff about Hov too. Like a lotta people already pointed out, you can tell the bond between him and Flush, their whole dynamic. In Flush's eyes Mic G was like Nas (his own words), he went along for the ride with his homie and dropped a semi classic album himself in Ghetto Millionaire.

Emotional episode about a unsung rap hero.

This is definitely one of my favorite Drink Champ episodes. Mic’s mannerisms and the way he talks especially when tipsy reminds me so much of one my dudes it’s spooky. I listened to Flush a lot but I never got into Mic’s music outside of the obvious songs but one of my dudes growing up was into him heavy. Definitely going to revisit his music. Flush was subtly hilarious and very stand up to me and tho most won’t, I definitely get a lot their dynamic and why he was doing what he was doing on the show. Nore’s “devil advocate” stuff got real cringy to me and he definitely seemed a little predatory with the drinks early on especially seeing Mic was all in. Hopefully Mic doesn’t still deal with regular trauma as a result of his experiences and this episode going down memory lane was just a trigger for him.
