The 80s Mavs with young D Harper, Detlef, Blackman, Aguirre, Perkins wouldn't have made the playoffs in the 90s where an old D Harper, Detlef, Blackmon, Aguirre and Perkins all played in the finals? :ohhh:
Dont forget Roy Tarpley.

If he didnt become a drug addict, he would have made All NBA teams.

90's had the greatest era of centers that would have dominated if it had not been for one man.

Take that with you.

Kelly Tripuka was a waning star.

fukk outta here acting like he was worth making the face of a franchise.

Funny thing is, you made my point about how it was harder in the 80s. If you're gong to say Tripuka was good:

ask why is it that GOOD JAZZ TEAM INCLUDING HIM couldn't make the finals in the 80s?? :jbhmm:

I'll tell you why....because the league in the 80s was tougher.

You guys are shyt posters

Here's what's happening c00n, you googled expansion team. Saw a pic with a white guy holding a jersey and ran in here to post and didn't know the guy was a legitimate player. Now you're doubling down on your insults because you look stupid and making even stranger points.

Great teams win championships ...if I have to tell you that he want to Utah and didn't get along with coach in favor of Malone , then you should just shut your yapper and take your L on this one

From 1980 to 1989 only FIVE different teams made the NBA Finals. The Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons.

From 1990 to 1999 TEN different teams made the NBA Finals. The Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, Orlando Magic, Portland TrailBlazers, Seattle Supersonics, and Detroit Pistons.

So how was the 90's worse than the 80's again?

EDIT: Eleven...forgot the Knicks. My bad Knick brehs.

trailblazers also made it in the 80's

Jordan also played in an time where there were 15% more white people in the league, that clearly wouldn't be in the league today. Imagine taking out 15% of the black players in the league and replacing them with white american born players :laff:LeGM would be feasting all day. The game has grown so much since Jordan was in there

Everytime Lebron gets someone white on him its BBQ Chicken

Dude is clowning dribbling between his legs before driving :russ:

If you watch Jordan's 63 point game this is what Jordan was doing to Bird and Frankenstein cac McHale on switches with no zones straight M2M defense. :mjlol:

And nikkas claim LeBron wouldn't be as good back then :lolbron:

I'm the oldest dude on this site.

Karl Malone came to my HS in the 80s, and it helped create the movie Sunset Park.

You didn't deconstruct my point. Malone and Stockton had their best years in the late 80s yet could only sniff a finals appearance TWICE in the 90s when league play fell off.

or maybe Stockton and Malone had just got to the league :gucci:
Stockton and Malone took the Lakers to 7 games in the 80s.

As players, they also played their best in the 80s.

I SAW THEM.

The league was HARDER in the 80s.

They were contenders pretty quickly.

The West and the NBA overall was simply better in the 80s. Had the Mavericks 80s squad stayed together into the 90s, they would have seen finals appearances too.

That's the point. The league was better in the 80s. Free Agency and expansion didn't disrupt teams back then compared to the 90s where teams were "good" at best before being torn apart by free agency or poached by expansion teams. The fact that the Knicks had to rely on an old Derek harper and signed old ass Ronaldo Blackman JUST BECAUSE MJ in the 80s said "Ronaldo was the best defender I ever faced," shows you how much the league fell off.

Late 80s & early 90s NBA expansion allowed old early 80s scorers like Kelly Tripuka to be the face of franchises

:mjlol:

So I guess emaka okafor wasn't the face of the bobcats

people always bring up expansion as if the hornets weren't tough in the 90's
the magic had penny,shaq,d3,grant and Anderson and made a trip to the finals
the heat were contenders in the late 90's

You're not making an apples to apples comparison.

You compared drafted down the road players to my example of expansion teams making old decaying players the face of their newly minted franchise.

I really despise the intellectual failures that plague this site at times.

When these teams were created, it created space for grocery baggers like John starks to get a chance and old guys like Doc Rivers to get minutes.

Why aren't you deconstructing my point about expansion creating open roster spots for players on their last legs or d-leaguers? How did that increase quality?

6 Expansion teams in the span of 8 years....NO SPORT EVER did that.

I SAW the actual drop off in quality from the 80s to the 90s, and here dudes are datamining their arguments with me.
