For those of y'all asking "why was he SOO mad?!".
Being a coach in the NFL IS the pinnacle of coaching football. Being the coach of a storied and stable franchise such as the Pittsburgh Steelers is damn near icing on the cake. Anything less is simply a downgrade.
So everyone suggesting that this black man should take a demotion for a little more money, when he is already rich, is an insult.
I tell you one thing, his answer was essentially the culmination of dealing with racists fans and reporters for 10+ years
Not just that it's also acknowledged by almost everyone that if he's fired by Pittsburgh he's getting another marquee NFL job damn near immediately. If he's going to the west coast it's for the 49ers or Raiders not USC
Recruiting season starts RIGHT after the bowl games are complete.

Owners behave COMPLETELY different mindsets than boosters. No raise and he's good money w/ the Rooney family and got A1 job security so why would he give that up? No matter how much white folks in Pittsburgh love to put the teams failures on his shoulders

Coaches that win SB a super bowl are damn near immortalized unless they have a hall of fame roster.
Dabo Sweeney aint got Andy Reid's clout outside of South Carolina. Sean McVay has more weight than Lincoln Riley and McVay doesn't even have any rings. People look at College coaches funny because they have the capability to stack the deck with recruiting.
You gotta win or get to the Natty multiple times in College to be taken seriously. One SB appearance and mostly winning seasons is enough in the Pros.
