Talk out all the way out your ass, brehs.![]()
exactly when I got to 30th AG (the unit at Fort Benning that you go to Before you even start Basic Training This dude said he wanted to be the CSM of Delta Force. I didn't even know what that was but I openly laughed. The dude was either shy or not fond of showers and some dudes were gonna toss his ass in there. Anyway a short while later (I'd say we were in the 30th for less than a week) and someone beat his ass, He didn't even make it to basic training with us. Another guy who stated he wanted to go SF fell out of the last big march in basic training and didn't graduate either.
The funny thing was there was a ranger recruiter (we were a cohort platoon and we all ended up in the same brigade in the 82nd) at Airborne school who told us to follow him and took off running. The only guy who made it to the Ranger compound that I knew was this guy called Reyna. I never saw him again so I guess he made it. Everyone else reported to the 82nd after we got our wings.

I can give you some examples it's dudes who have made it so far through the pipeline that they were near graduation and would get peered out or just put out for personality reasons. Young Specialist showing up with almost all of the scare badges. Honestly within the 18th ABN Corp footprint especially 82nd/75th/173RD most if not all of the leadership positions should be airborne and most are ranger qualified (even the sustainers). Meanwhile I'd have whole companies full of tankers or scouts that can't get half of the schools.
