@Gilly I've always had Tacp/JTACS/combat weather with me on every large sized mission we went on..

So don't say all Airman it depends on the job...But the front lines come to you now anyway...I remember we set up a strong point and never really had to leave it because the Fighters would come to us.

Hell
Get ready for monotonous pointless mind games. Like standing while bending over and picking up a pen & then putting it back down for 30 minutes straight and yelling some numbers while doing it. Shyte gets you light headed...or sitting in a chair and standing back up. Sit down. Stand up. Or holding a book out in front of you while reading it at the top of your lungs for 30 minutes. Your arms gets tired after jus 5 mins. Our Company Commanders literally had by the book time limits for dumb exercises like that.

Other than that it wasn't too bad physically. I've been an athlete all my life and throughout college so it wasn't about being in shape for me. Jus the mind games. To this day I still think those drill sergeants/company commanders are mentally disturbed. Their mind isn't right.
God yes

Navy Basic wasn't bad at all, well at least my division RDCs weren't too bad. It's all mental, the physical portion wasn't bad... I'm not even a runner or a good swimmer but I still managed to pass both tests. Our Division Chief off grip told us during the first week "yea... you're going to get treated like shyt for these next 8 weeks but remember... it's boot camp, it's our jobs" So I just kept that in mind every time my RDC got in my face or whatever.

Our Chief was actually nice and barely yelled at us, the first class made chief during my time in there so he was barely in there..... , leaving us with this loud mouthed EM1 who hated the fact he was pretty much by himself and made us pay for it. We all could tell it was an act though, I remember one time he came in late as shyt and asked one of use if he can borrow some aftershave and mouthwash.... a free 5 minute phonecall to whoever game him some :heh:. Then another time our brother division's RDCs came in our berthing and started roasting the hell out of our RDC for trying to get at some chick, getting drunk, and falling asleep before he got any ass:dead:.

Those final days after battlestations were the best though, our division came out on top (surprisingly, because we were considered the worst division in our battlegroup) so the guy who made chief decided to play music off his iPod over the speakers for us, mainly 90s hip-hop which was :ohlawd: for me but :damn:for all the cacs in there.

Hmmmm....I'm seriously thinking about looking into that, but I have a feeling they're gonna be making nikkaz jump through even MORE hoops and being even more selective...but IDK, I'll see what happens within the next year or so....

Really? Everyone I know in the AF never complained...then again different strokes for different folks I suppose....

I mean I'm still on the fence, bc I doubt I'll do a long term contract (MAX would be 4 years), plus IDK what MOS would be worth it for such little time. And from what I gather, they have nikkaz on year-long waiting lists for that shyt.....IDK bout doing all that....

Honestly in your situation they will Probally tell you what AFSCs you can do...likely security forces and some other harder to fill jobs.
