The Enitity and Gabriel are just shytty villains. The new characters are paper thin and honestly pointless. The story overall sucks. Way too many flashbacks. And the End of the submarine scene was ungodly stupid. But the action is top tier :banderas: . 6.5/10
Gonna enslave a destructive AI with limitless power and a death cult in check with a hard drive and USB kill switch.

They really went stupid with that shyt.

These two films were fun, but just too cartoony and bloated. This would of been a great 3 hour film, but they just split it in two and just add so much unnecessary exposition and side plots.

I hope they got back to peak Mission Impossible style film of the Ghost Protocol, Rogue Nation, and Fallout.

Gabriel has to be one of the worst villains in the franchise. Just really dumb.

In Dead Reckoning the character was played serious here he becomes a cartoon villain In serious toned movie :mjlol:

Plus his history with Ethan that they setup in the previous flick goes NOWHERE :heh:

I went back and had to remember if he was that stupid and goofy. :mjlol:

They added so much bullshyt filler to justify two films to exist.

I've seen all of these movies in the theater. The young Cruise flashbacks were a real trip. Had me feeling very :flabbynsick: .

This is worth seeing on the big screen. The
Underwater scene was the best imo. The much hyped airplane scene was.... good but I agree too long.

Every time Tom runs, I want to get up and yell CRUUUUUUUUISE!!!!!! He's a superhero in this, like all the other movies.

Esai is chewing up the scenery. His logic and purpose are so convoluted, but so is the rest of the plot.

Milkshake? I couldn't tell what they were going for with his character. Was he random military no nonsense guy who's tired of these damn special ops people using him as an Uber? A real sailor looking for a chance to bring it to the Russkies? They played him both ways, but he doesn't have enough bass in his voice for this.

Hayley is still gorgeous, but compared to last film, under used. With her firmly on Team Cruise, but also not a love interest, she is just a pretty face. The lovely tension that they'd established is gone.

Ving seems like there was something off with the writing. He's barely in both. He does stuff plot wise, but he's not doing too much otherwise. Just tell me they paid the man his money though.

Simon Pegg, is in this quite a bit, but also not used like he's normally used. A bit of a waste. There's not much comic relief in this at all.

Coli Breh soldier team switch was kinda pointless.

Shea Whigham does his thing. That thing he always does.

Hannah, wasted. The other blonde, wasted
Auntie (c) Killmonger Angela, wasted.

Breh with the Jheri curl, I got nothing on him.

This dude - plays the same guy in everything

Director of intelligence - wasted.

I did like the IT guy callback character, even
though his motivation was kinda odd. I'm not even sure why him and wifey are still rolling with the squad. Especially when they get to the showdown spot.

To be clear, I like the spy genre and put it up there with heist genre and the con genre, but if you're going into this looking for a plot, it's very hand wavy. My favorite spy media in the last few years has been Slow Horses. And most of the series is about settling scores from the Cold War. It's not really coherent either. But it has great characters. This? Not so much.

Do they play off each other? Not really.

Lot of the speeches and morals are things you've heard before.

I didn't leave this movie thinking, great send off. Much like the last James Bond film was low key kinda awful.

I think the version of me that saw the first film would have loved this. Now? I'm too media savvy, seen too many movies, TV shows, anime manga. I've read too many books.

All I can think is that writing a good story is tough.

Saw it Thursday night. Movie was pretty mid. Fighting with the 2nd movie for worst one. The fun was gone. The sub scene was cool I guess because you get a sense of how deep and dark the ocean is. Scary place. The plane scene for the finale was just a rehash of Fallout with Henry Cavil's Walker. Being separated from the team for most of the film didn't help. They completely wasted Pom. Nearly 3 hours with constant exposition and flashbacks. Easily could've been 2 hours.

Gabriel is a weak ass villain. He served no purpose and the Entity was lame. They should've had Solomon Lane and the Syndicate as the villain.

Seen it yesterday. It was cool. For a movie that long, I expect it be a bit better. It's made like this is supposed to be a continuation of previous movies storylines...but they're cramming new storyline into this one the entire time. It felt like a Fast and Furious movie especially with all the unbelievable shyt. I'm alright with unbelievable...if its some awesome action shyt, but this one didnt blow me away. They were going for nostalgia...but it didnt work and i didn't leave the theater thinking "Final" anything. In fact quite the opposite. There will 100% be more of these movies. Especially with this dumb motherfukker Ethan running around with the glowing thumb drive. I bet Ving Rhames somehow lives, which I'm ok with, but...FNF. It was fun tho.

They gave that man cancer and still killed him off screen with a nuke bomb. Lol

If they bring him back... It's probably as the AI. Only thing that makes sense. Which I can't stand. Ethan Hunt having a super powered AI like he Tony Stark is a terrible idea.

LMFAO! I dont want to hear the word Entity for the rest of my life.
The way the talk about it like it's Thanos is :mjlol:
I thought it was good, don't think I can say it was better than part one but thought it was a solid job with the drama and heighten suspense between the team, Ethan, and the command center.
Ethan was looking like Ken Shamrock when he hit that marine with the ankle lock :pachaha:
Gabriel was such a weak enemy. Glad they made him die on the plane like that was :russ:
Luther and the conclusion :salute:
