It's weird that MI series has made a ton of likeable female character, but Grace, Paris, and Tapeesa was basically window dressing with nothing going for them.

Grace being different level of annoying. Like pickpocket thief just turns IMF agent overnight is just lazy writing. If you're going to make 5.5 hour movie... Instead of doing unnecessary exposition dumps... Maybe develop your characters. Give her a training montage or some shyt. Give them a real arch.
I did like that Tapeesa was a bit of showcase that Donloe had a better life now.

Paris felt whatever. She joined the squad, but why? I didn't expect much from her and actually forgot about her going into this film. I guess this comes down to her whole thing with Gabriel. Again, Gabriel being underdeveloped given the retcon from the first film was a big issue for the film.

Honestly, the series had such a great track record with the heroines. Nyah, Julia, Jane & Ilsa. Hell even Alanna was dope too. They really dropped the ball with Grace.

the third act wth the planes seemed kinda just there for stunts

especially how Gabriel goes out...shyt was kinda weak

and he was just...flying.

Disgree. It was fitting in the sense that Gabriel's hubris thinking he knew everything that was going to happen and he was always in control. The fact that he got a preverbal kick in the nuts just before he cracked his head and died. I thought was clever ending.

I just can't get over the submarine scene, man. You explain how he will die. He takes off the pressure suit miles under water and some how he survives without brain damage and they are at the right spot as well. If they didn't explain how he could die and put a time limit, I would be willing to suspend my logic to see Ethan survive. That they did explain it and he did even worse stuff to survive took me out the movie and had me laughing. Awful writing, imo.

If it wasn't for the biplane stunt...easily the worst movie of the series. The most plothole-heavy movie of the series, and not in a so-bad-its-good kinda way.

Until the dude from Severance showed up, there was almost no levity or joking. The banter between Ethan, Benji, and co is what makes Ethan more human and relatable. I would've just cut out the entity coffin and aircraft carrier scenes to get to the submarine quicker. Severance dude and girl from Love Lies Bleeding were fun.

The problem with Grace is that she's just not as entertaining as White Widow or Ilsa. She had one job to do in the end and they didn't even bother to put any sauce on it.

That said, the biplane scene was great. I know it's similar to the Fallout helicopter chase, but I don't care.

Hopefully this was the last one. Let's not Fast and Furious this.

It just took me out. Me and a few others were laughing at how absurd that was.

Ship was on a cliff too and could have set off a mega nuclear disaster.

Also POTUS realizing she needed to take the nukes offline at the last second.
:dead:

I’m only giving 6/10 because the action was intense but after the 3-6 run where we taking about all time action film content, it ended with this.

the fact that they bargained on the belief (based on NOTHING) that the entity would wait until it had all of the nuclear powers' arsenals under control to strike.

WHY. if it had all BUT the us, it could easily launch and just nuke the US too...it makes no fukking sense...they risked billions of people on this thought.

BTW we never saw russia's key nor did they follow-up to try and use the key or get the source code. They just went away after we left the log cabin :dead:

I’ve never deactivated a bomb before, so we will all have e to sacrifice ourselves to detonate it… oh wait, I figured out how we can do it and save ourselves but we have to run 100 yards in ten seconds and me and my wife are overweight and old…. And we did it and are safe.
