It's a bit of a sacrifice no matter what mode, but it's all okay so long as it's fun

As much as I like to be a graphics ho I was okay during the beta :manny:

my wish was getting the fidelity mode at 60fps, even without ray tracing and it looks pretty close. I can live without RT

Will always feel this franchise is overrated af.

Technically had always been trash, this newest release takes the cake for that.

Gameplay has always been too simple for me, they say this one is even simpler.

The entire game is just built around that itch to collect and upgrade stuff. I fell into that and put some good hours in the last MH game, but at the end it’s just empty. Not playing through another one of these games. Can just play a mobile ftp game if i wanna collect and upgrade :manny:

It technically has been getting easier and easier since MH3, but tbh those games were like the O.G souls games but instead of losing all your gear you lose all your time. :skip:

Hunting and tracking monsters was mad time consuming and resource consuming.

I feel like MHR struck a perfect cord of accessibility and difficulty, although monsters were kinda easy until they started dropping DLC and the expansion.

Just from playing the beta, I think the issue is the weapons now are so smooth and refined that people don't really need to learn their weapons anymore. They feel better and stronger but it seems like they all have way fewer or shorter gaps were you are "stuck" in animation.

Also collecting items is pretty trivial it seems. It also feels like it's basically just jump in, power past a monster and move on. I assuming elements and resistance would be huge since the weapons all seem so good now, but I guess not.

Still Day 1 for me though

I put like 50 hours into MHR and at the end it just felt empty.

The combat isn’t challenging or even lots of fun for me. You just pick your moves and spam them. There’s no real need to worry about spacing, or blocking, dodging, etc. Most monsters barely have any hit reaction so you just standing there going ham on your moves, waiting for them to do their move then going back to yours. There’s no challenge in button inputs or timing. Then they run away and you gotta spend 10 minutes tracking them down to do the same shyt again :beli:

Level design is simple there’s no real challenge, strategy or fun in traversing the levels.

There’s no story. And not in a Dark souls “figure it out” kinda way. There’s really no story. Just kill monsters and make weapons out of their parts.

And technically the games have been terrible.

But somehow 10/10 great game…. I swear i will never understand/agree with the way games are reviewed :mindblown:
