One thing that black people cannot afford are more enemies. If those people want to be white let them but we should never try to separate ourselves from the ones who identify with us. They're (we) all we have, we'd be morons to not try to strengthen those ties instead of messing it up with angry/ disrespectful (not saying OP is) generalizations. The us vs them mentality that's sometimes displayed on this forum towards other minority groups can be ridiculous. Here's the thing, you are judging the validity of MY experience based upon your own and life simply doesn't work that way. I attended college with Chinese-Peruvians (a brother and sister) and Afro-Brazilians (sisters). Know many Afro-Panamanians, Afro-Hondurans (childhood friend, neighbors and family friends), Afro-Salvadorian (friend of college roommate). My cousin dated a man (an artist) who self identified as Afro-Mexican. One of my best friends is Jewish and Cuban....and on and on...

but i didnt say u were lying, i said quite a few sounded like an exaggeration. u just mention 1 afro-salvadorean who was a friend of a college roomate and a man your cousin dated who self identified as afro-mexican. afro hondurans ill give u cause i had a friend who was and he had a couple of family members in the area. im just saying they are rare to find. i had an ex who was dominican but had a chinese grandfather doesnt mean there is a significant amount of chinese-dominicans out there. my wife's grandmother's mother was from turkey and my wife is dominican also. some mixes are rare but they exist, doesnt mean there is some significant amount of it tho.

Black Americans are only about 12% of the US population and therefore we are not a significant percentage of the population. So if someone from Chile or wherever says that they know/met a Black American it would be a similar reaction to your own for someone to tell that person that meeting a Black American is highly unlikely since they are such a small percentage of the population.

I don't know why a Latino would claim white. But whatever. That's them. What I want to know is. Why they don't put one option to save the trouble and not try to divide people.

Everywhere else it is not even close. Whether Mexican/Caribbean or South American Latinos there are a real problems for Black folks. For some reason so many folks can't understand this. Now here is the cold water: BLACK HAVE NO FRIENDS ON EARTH!! Looking for friendship over power is a weakness that we just haven't learned to overcome yet. You cannot make people like the don't. You know how you show weakness, by showing emotions, making more enemies than necessary, cutting ties to people that have not wronged you, making generalized statements that do more harm than good. You can have any type of feeling in this world but you should never let the world (or your enemy) know it.
