I don't think anyone said that making a 100k is the standard. It's more of people sharing unrealistic expectations they've seen from women. But it's multiple jobs that pay six figs and you're not nose to the stone like that. I make that and I'm at work on OT making posts

There are multiple people in this thread who make north of $100k. It’s not some legend or some unattainable goal. It’s also not as much money as most people think and you’re still an accident/mishap/nut away from financial ruin. It’s just allows for a slightly better lifestyle.

I’d argue that the majority of that 5% of BM haven’t been traveling like that or dealt with those women of other countries and their culture. But I think that is rapidly changing and a lot of those men are now starting to go other places for mates, friend.

100K is not the standard in a vacuum, but in most places where population is centered it isn't unicorn status to where you're discrediting people's availability to post as if it's $1M/year.
When you need 2K a month of a studio or 4K for house where you aren't concerned for your safety/belongings, 100K or near it becomes the standard to cover your COL and have some sort of leftover to put towards to your future or have any breathing room.

interest rates in canada have literally doubled the past year everyone is feeling the squeeze as rents as well during covid you could rent a 1bdrm for like 1,500 now you're looking at 2500

D.C. has a lot of money around it and it’s old money. I would think it’s nothing to find retired Goverment types who are double dipping in government roles. A military retiree likely makes $2500 a month just for waking up. Add in 100% disability and that’s another $3900 a month so that’s about $76,800 a year if they land a GS12-14 so say around (100k) that should put them just under $180,000 a year. If they can’t afford to live off of that it’s just time to move.
