Homeboy Runny-Ray
From Around The Way
son..everybody I know who ACTUALLY purchased that album felt it was dope..and that was cause it was..he went the more contemporary RnB route and some his dopest songs he ever did was on that album...that was one of the dopest RnB albums to drop that year actually..the nikka sold 13 million records worldwide BEFORE he died off that album...in the US he sold 2 milli...to act like his album didn't have MAJOR label issues...this is his FIRST album that wasn't associated with a tour...and like I said..US had a stick up their ass when it came to MJ...that's a fact..not an opinion...we was the only country that consistently shyt on him while everywhere else in the world he was loved....the fact that u tryna shrug the fact that Eve collabed wit Michael Jackson is just retarded...and I mean seriously retarded..no matter HOW u feel about that nikka..he was one of if not the most famous person in the world...u was running around saying straight up delusional shyt like MJ's music didn't stand the test of time..that shyt was one of the most retarded statements I seen on the internet..
Also..I don't need to come to grips with anything..Im not even a fan of Lil Kim like that...but what that nikka said was completely false...period..Kim has had more success on every level as an artist than Nicki...and funny thing is I feel Nicki is better at actual rapping than Lil Kim...but as an artist who puts out music..Nicki doesn't even have a good album...Lil Kim has what's considered a hip hop classic and has a longer and better career as a music artist..
so what if they thought the album was dope? thats a very vague statement. ALOT of stuff is dope. like i said, MJ was ballin with a mid-range game at that point. thanks for proving my point.
i thought you mean something else with the "stick in the ass" comment. but youre still wrong. people were making fun of michael jackson when he was at his apex. it didnt stop him from going double-diamond. so obviously, that isnt what stopped him from selling.
you dang right i shrugged off the eve collabo. am i supposed to get excited about it just because its michael? like i said, i dont indulge in idol-worship. he had his time but that time was up. he was a shell of his former self by then. and just like every other artist when theyre on their last legs, we could care less who they do songs with by that point. mike is no different. he aint God.
as for the bolded: i didnt say anything delusional. nor was i the only person in the thread saying such. IN FACT, you were out-numbered in that argument.
and all i said was that alot of his pop stuff didnt age well and i have a hard time enjoying anymore. then you threw a fit, especially after you saw others in agreement.again, im not vouching for nicki at all. i was just noting that she only had that 1 joint. and since when is it considered a classic?

back then.
