My niggrums, looks at my rep. I live in the negative. I'm a contrarian without even trying to be, so it's only natural.

That being said, I gave those albums their just due for being very well put together, but the actually musical content didn't move me. For instance, there is no song on Illmatic that moved me like 'I Gave You Power' from 'It Was Written'.
Because It Was Written is a better album. Illmatic is overhyped but that doesn't mean it holds less weight.

It's like how people only talk about Gawdfather's Get Rich Or Die Tryin' when The Massacre is clearly the better produced album all around.

generic lyrical miracle bars alone don't impress people who know what a great emcee really is:martin:
Yeah it always did make me laugh how nikkas always bring up one of the what? Three rap verses she spit. To prove she top 10.
Which the one they always bring up was just some lyrical miracle shyt. Which was not even that good:russ:

Even the cadence and delivery of it comes off on some "lyrical miracle, spiritual, biblical..." Style. Like she is mocking that rapstyle.:heh:

Exactly, these guys would never give a male rapper those kind of props based on that body of work, and based on those type of bars. Closest thing we have is 3K on the male side, and she has one tenth of the genius lyrically, and a tenth of the body of work of 3K. But she was a pretty girl,"real hiphop" who spit lyrical miracle bars who was from the east coast,a purist wet dream:ohlawd:

Those excuses for consistently showing up hours late are :trash: and proof that she's crazy and completely unprofessional.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
It's one of those damned if u do, damned if u dont situations. People dont like when u silent when people throwing ur name thru the mud. But they also have an issue when u explain urself as well. U cant win. This is why nikkas like Nas choose to stay quiet most of the time and if he does address shyt it's in the bars.

I salute her for this. Would have preferred it if she translated these thoughts in an album though.

First half had some interesting points I think. Don't like the self praise in the second half. That is for others to determine. As Nas said: "self praise is no praise".

There are some gems in here though: "straight talk is not devoid of love, it is just devoid of bullshyt"
