There’s no slippery slope argument breh. You legit have people on this site complaining that there already too many games in an NBA season. Yet are perfectly fine with adding more games to the schedule

The play-in games would make more sense if the NBA season was reduced. It’s 72 games this year, but more than likely it’s going back to 82 games next season as no one wants to lose out of the missed revenue.
The complaints about games is silly . This makes more meaningful games and helps reduce the incentive to tank so then it shouldn’t be a complaint about too many games because more teams will be playing hard . In a league where so much of the top talent is joining a few teams it should be an incentive for teams that aren’t trash but isn’t the nets lakers etc . In Lukas case Just win your games and you’ll be ok or stop complaining if you lose to a lower seed

Let LeBron, AD or another superstar player get injured one of these “play-in” games and watch how fast people’s tune changes.

I fukks with Luka but the way guys like Bill Simmons and them been crowning this nikka is nauseating. They been wanting him to be spanish white lebron when he ain’t there yet like crazy
He is there at the same stage of development. He’ll never be as good as Bron but he’s very much a Euro version of Bron.

Both he and Zion are All-Timers in the making.

You're arguing that the number of games means we don't need play in games because we know which teams are good.

By that standard we can also argue that we don't need 16 teams in the playoffs because over half of them don't have a legitimate shot at being champions. Hence the slippery slope because at what point are you deciding x amount of games means x amount of teams in the playoffs?

The only reason we have a playoffs is because it gives the fans more opportunities to root for their teams and players and a teams a chance to earn some extra money.
Exactly. Why not just have the top 4 seeds play as realistically the other teams have no chance to upset anyone ? Luka need to stop whining

OK I didn't know that I guess he just doesn't get them in the games that I watch.

I'll admit I don't watch a lot of the Hitler Youths games unless they are playing a actually good team.

Luka is not better than Zion or Morant.
I think Tatum is better as well but it's close
.

Edit: And I don't see how he has to have his teammates respect to play his style of basketball when it's clear that the coach and ownership gave him the keys and he's the de facto point guard.

If they don't "play his style" they ain't getting the ball or playing time. And his style is just y'all stand around the three point line while I isolate and take dumb shots anyway.
:gucci:

Both Memphis and Boston would drive Tatum and morant to the airport themselves if that was an actual offer

My nikka the season is 82 games, so that’s more than enough time to make it into the top 8. Every team rests player, so that excuse doesn’t fly.

People complain about the season being to long already as it is, yet those same dudes are perfectly fine with the league adding more games to the schedule.
Well if you deserve to be in the playoffs...prove it. Its just a few games, if you're a playoff contender them win a couple game. Not a tall order.

If Dallas was in the East, they would have home court advantage in the first round as the 4th seed today.

Currently, they would have to play a play in tournament in the West, possibly facing a team that is 19th overall in the league in an elimination game

He’s 100% right
How is he 100% right ? Ih the last 20 years the nba has had a bunch of changes to the playoff format . Usually only benefiting the top seeds . This at least give the lower seeds something and a change to be playoff ready ( Baring a injury ) vs the top seeds

He's 100% correct. The play in system is a terrible idea. If the team wasn't good enough to finish in the top 8, too bad. Get better and try again next season. If you're going to do that, just out every team in the playoffs then:camby:

They’d be better off just getting rid the East/West format in the playoffs and take the top 16 teams in the league. Yeah you’d have a lot of teams in the East being left out, but oh well. That’s the 82 game season is for.
