Oh, I believe you
If you could equally provide for yourself, then I doubt your father would be providing a "certain lifestyle" for someone who could provide that lifestyle on their own.
If that money came from the same dad who provided "a certain lifestyle", then it doesn't count in the context of my retort. Unless that money was obtained through your own efforts, then that only leads back to the point of my original troll post.
Peace
If was not my job to provide myself with the lifestyle I was accustomed to living while I was in college. That makes no sense. My husband did not marry a 30 year old, he married someone who just graduated from college.
Whether or not ALL of my money came from my father during the ages of 18-22, doesn't matter. My money in my account is my money. My name on investments = my money. Therefore to say I had "no money" would be inaccurate. Whether or not you approve on passing along wealth is not relevant in terms of statements being accurate or not.
I never claimed that everything I have is based
solely off of my own hard work because that would be a lie. And really I don't care about props for "hard work", I care about being able to use my time how I want to use it and not being broke in the process.
My husband was smart to marry me. And I was smart to make sure that I could transition into being married without losing the ability to live the life I wanted to live.
Marriage is a mix of love and practical matters. People spend too much time on the lovey dovey and forget that there are practical considerations.
