So just say you don't tip because you lack disposable income.

So if working for tips is degrading, so is whatever white collar job you work at because An employee is a cost of doing business. If the employee doesn’t generate more income than they cost, that employee is going to get fired or the business is going to go broke. If you’re the employee, the outcome is the same. Businesses exist to maximize the owner’s equity.

Degrading isn't it?

I'm not an employee.

The nerve! The entitlement!

Did she warn the customers ahead of time to be prepared for an unusually long wait before the food would be served? Did she offer free appetizers? Free or very cheap alcoholic beverages? A discount on the meal? A blow job???

Talking about "I did my best to keep good company with them"....AINT THAT SOME shyt???

Waiting that long for a damn plate, while your stomach does backflips and starts to eat its own fat is NOT a pleasurable experience and does not entitle one to a reward.

How much would you make on a good day or bi weekly? Damn bro. You really gotta have peoplle skills to make any kind of money. I would quit after about 30 minutes.
A good day (a busy Friday or Saturday night) could be in the 200s but some people kinda cheated for that. Most I made in a shift was like 160. And it was rough being more time sensitive than a normal restaurant but when shyt is going smoothly serving people can be fun. Not a job I'd fully support myself on though (ie moving out and having my own bills etc)

I wonder what the non-verbal communication was like. People tend to pick up on bad/ or negative energy pretty quickly. The last time I was at a restaurant with a long wait time the waitress was extremely apologetic and even gave us free beverages for the wait.

Entrepreneur or white collar worker it makes no difference if you go out to a restaurant and not tip you're insolent.

If you don't want to tip order take out.

:umad:

I could say if you can't live off of 2.50 an hour then get a better job.

Do you all read from the same bitter waiters handbook? We've heard it all before. That's not going to make people who don't want to tip actually tip. And it really doesn't apply to me because I've already said that I tip very well despite the fact that I disagree with it.

You want people to stop going to restaurants? Then what will waiters do when they don't even get the $2.50 an hour because everyone is eating at home or a drive through? You are advocating that people ego themselves out of a job that you say they need.

I propose that this topic be handled logically and not emotionally. And logic says that people working a full shift should not be relying on the generosity of strangers in order to make rent.
