I heard 2 before brehImpressive how you listened to five songs in four minutes flat
Yep. It’s him and Pac. That’s it.Dude said earlier in the thread he ain't listened to a Nas album since KD1 and now he pretending to know all the topics discussed in the series
He talked about his childhood, current life, politics, social commentary, history, religion, relationships, being a parent, past present and future of hip hop culture, philosophy, business shyt, street shyt, fly shyt, uplifting topics, storytelling, concept tracks, probably more on those albums. Subject matter literally the dumbest criticism you can make about Nas. No rapper with his level of reach and success consistently speak on a wider range of topics.
He's living a crypto bro VC low stress life, I think that comes out clearly. He has money and doing all of this strictly for the love and the cultureNas is a single man in his 50s
Make a song about it
I think its a hit in something like that
tapes and writers. Nas has songs in the KD series about that. U just full of shyt man. U actually ain’t even listening to this shyt u just talking. U literally REFUSED to listen to KD3. U have no right to speak on what he does or doesn’t talk about if u not willing to even listen to his shyt.Nas is a single man in his 50s

Listen to Junkie lol

Wow…
…and not in a good way.
The track list had me hyped, but reality is not meeting my expectations.
I bought Illmatic on CD the week it dropped. I’ve been a Nas fan since the beginning. H to the Omo Nas… not shawty what’s your price or that wack ass album he dropped with Kanye, Nasir, Nas.
The rapping on this sounded uninspired —like he’s bored with rap. This will get no more listens from me. I won’t even talk about the beats.
Weed plate status.
I guess as far as stuff relevant to this thread (ie beats I could picture Nas on)
(My most blatant Premo imitation lol)
(My Gang Starr era Premo imitation)
I think Premo played in my face wit that damn NYSOM 3 beat. The fukking sample was right there for the taking. Sometimes u gotta make dope shyt rather than try to be too creative. And listen. I love creative shyt. I mean look at the shyt Roc Marci does. One thing is Roc Marci has a sort of creative style to fit certain different shyt so I don’t know. It’s a level of humor, wittiness etc etc that carries the weirdness.I hate that I don't like this production more. I'm so frustrated with myself that I don't just enjoy it more. Primo did 17 beats this year for Roc Marci, Ransom, and De La Soul, and I like 13 of those 17 a good bit more than I like the ones on Light Years.
I also really dislike some of the framing of the talk of this project I've seen online today. Not even so much here. But there's a lot of "oh if you don't like you just want to hear Metro Boomin or Mustard, etc." Which I think is dumb.
Preem has been my GOAT producer of all time and has been for over 20 years. I really tried to temper my expectations on this too. I think Nas showed up, 100% and delivered amazingly. I was not expecting anything on the level of their 90's and early 00's work, but damn...a good half of the beats on here are mostly forgettable to me.
Again, I'm gonna give these beats time to grow on me, because they definitely might.
