You act like those are the only nominations he’s ever gotten

He 100% deserved Best Rap Solo Performance in 97 for If I Ruled The World (LL Cool J’s Hey Lover won)

He definitely deserved Best Music Video for One Mic in 03 (Fatboy Slim won)

I’d argue that he deserved the W in 09 for Best Rap album as Untitled was a stronger body of work than Carter 3. BUT Carter 3 was a juggernaut of an album that sold a million in its first week and Wayne owned that year so I won’t even bytch about that.

He was DEFINITELY snubbed in 2013. Life Is Good>>>>>> Take Care all day everyday. Life Is Good was also more critically acclaimed. That album should have never lost
If I Ruled The World deserved it.

But we know the album is the category that matters most that’s what we’ve been talking about the albums category to which Nas never deserved to win.

No, he didn’t deserve to win over Take Care. The same reasons you gave for Wayne winning apply to Drake. Take Care is a juggernaut of an album littered with classic tracks that has charted for over 400 weeks, jump started careers, and was just an absolute moment.

It’s just that the you type of nikkas could never have a person like Drake win over Nas. Drake is the antithesis of hip hop to you nikkas.

While I love Nas how can any stan say that he deserved a Grammy over the albums you listed? As much as folks are trying to argue against it now, the albums that won represented the time BUT they were also phenomenal albums. Besides being :flabbynsick:, that may be why some of the posters dont think Lil Baby, Pop, and Roddy belong. Time will tell.
I love Nas too these dudes are delusional

Lil Baby and Pop should be nominated I don’t think Roddy’s album was that good, just had a few mega smashes.

nikka, every single defense of the music you like doesn't have to be "You're too old."
You’d have to be deaf to think DaBaby, Lil Baby, and 21 Savage all sound alike

Old people are hard of hearing that’s the only possible defense one can come to

Nas and Electron deserve their nominations

Jay at 50 still more than deserved his 4:44 nominations

Songs like Story of OJ and Bigger Picture are powerful songs that define our times. This should be the music being lauded not nikkas getting nominated because they rapped about selling dope really well for their niche real rap audience.

It’s not about age it’s about the culture and how the music resonates within society. I’m sure those artists you named as old heads their music was still impactful.

The only people listening to Royce 5’9 in 2020 is a niche audience. Gibbs is also a niche artist. Disrespectful to have them ahead of Lil Baby who was completely dominant.

Notice how I said Kool Moe Dee and Slick Rick but didn’t say LL or Kool G Rap who were still dropping culturally dominant music alongside Nas and Biggie

Bigger picture don’t define shyt, it’s surface level commentary.

Yes because Hip Hop has never been obsessed with mainstream credibility to now, for something to be hot in the streets was valued much more.
