ESPN ass stat. "worst rating since four years" Do they expect every single year to have more viewers than the last one? Of course Curry and them at the end of their career pull more viewers.
They are expected to grow the ratings every year like a CEO is expected to grow revenue and the stock price of a business every year

Silver inherited LeBron, and lucked into Curry, who became a superstar at the early stages of his tenure as commissioner.

He doesn't know how to market/promote the game.

The fact that he used the fukking Packers and Steelers, probably the two most storied franchises in NFL history, to make his argument about small markets being celebrated, shows that he is out of touch. He's awful.
He’s awful.

Game 1 looked and felt like a random game in February

He let load management happen

He let the gather step nonsense happen

That definitely plays a part too. The presentation was subpar, like it didn’t feel like the finals. They can work on the presentation.. maybe they’ll do better going forward

@CrimsonTider @Tribal Outkast

People have been upset with the presentation for about 3 or 4 years now and Silver finally acknowledged it acting surprised about it.

And anger about the presentation is only growing louder. This stuff matters to fans.

And even with the new media rights deal, ESPN/ABC still has the exclusive rights to air the Finals for the next 11 years.

NBC can't even air any NBA Finals games. That's a bunch of bullsh!t. F*ck Adam Silver!

You could make the center court logo and court lines all gold

If you don't want decals

Silver is awful to me. There’s been a steady decline in interest in the game from the fans and actual players during his tenure

I never forget when he had the Audacity to tell us these weak ass players were struggling with mental health and he wanted to offer them pto

I thought thecoli hated those flamboyant ass NBA Cup courts?

Now the Finals courts are too bland? :mjlol:

Game 1 was such a good game that you have to completely contradict yourself to find something to hate. :mjlol:

No wonder MJ is joining NBC. He needs to give his stans some direction. :mjlol:

They’ll never bring these days back and I won’t act like it’s possible, but man if NBC can bring something close to this back

They might end up running this shyt for good lol. Hopefully NBC will get all star weekend as well

T.O.
It's an entertainment product.
In a sense, the NBA has a monopoly on this entertainment product, and it is their responsibility to be responsible stewards of one of the most popular games on the planet: basketball.
They're fukking up.
The public have a lot of options for how to engage with entertainment.
The NBA needs to read the room and plot a new course.
They will.
Many people like to engage with the hobby by watching how this process unfolds. Will it be through European expansion? Shortening the regular season? Changing the rules of the game to account for spamming the 3 point shot?
The internet is a big place, Sukdeep. If you don't like this particular conversation, go find something else to do.

Yes. Every year should get higher based on general population growth.
