They've heard of Ohtani yes but they still don't give a shyt about baseball. The guys who we are saying are failing to become the face of the league - Ant, Ja, Zion - all have more commercials and exposure in America than Ohtani.
Even in LA, now that i think about it, I don't even see Ohtani billboards and shyt like that too often. Whereas LemonDaddy n/h stay having Austin Reaves or other lakers role players on billboards all over the place.

Last time my Lakers were in the Finals: 2020, and we WON. 5 years ago.

That said: Lakers vs Knicks could be fun, but if my Lakers play without the heart (and without any form of coaching) like these Playoffs it would go terrible for us - even the 23-second ISO play they run for Brunson every 2nd time he comes down the court would be sufficient because JJ Redikk ain't coaching shyt. Only person to think keeping the 5 people on the floor for the entire 2nd half is a legit strategy.. besides that that had NEVER happened.

I am not sure it's automatically true that SGA is not a polarizing player.
He for sure is a hated player. People chant "Free Throw Merchant!" when he's on the road.
I would say he and Haliburton are most to blame for the low viewership and low ratings.
SGA: when he speaks he's actually quite likable. Unfortunately how he plays the game makes him unlikable to a lot of people.
He is literally looking for contact to get a foul, all the time. Foul baiting.. flopping.. it will not get you many fans and I think a lot of people do hate that.
Haliburton: everytime he does something crazy with another game winner it's shocking. But then when he speaks... he comes across very flat. It's hard to feel inspired after hearing an interview with him even after a huge game winner. He's more likable in general than SGA, but the games where he disappears . happen too often ("2/7 from the field going into the 4th" is his jam). Makes it hard for people to really love or really hate him.
