NBA tv ratings discourse is so lame

The game was fun and that’s all that matters

Unless you’re an advertising executive or something otherwise shut the fukk up and focus on your stars who are in the middle of their offseason

They should just give the Lakers and Knicks an automatic buy into the finals and dispense with the playoffs. I know watching Luka's fat ass huff and puff, Bron disappearing in 4th quarters and Brunson dribbling the air out of the ball would be way more entertaining than the Pacers making another crazy comeback :skip:

This post is part of the reason why the nba ratings discourse went up a notch. smaller market fans always bytching and crying about how it isn’t fair and they aren’t talked about enough . They reworked the entire CBA for y’all :skip:

Let's keep this in perspective....

1. How many of you on here have a Nielsen ratings box tracker on your tv? I'd guess no more than 1 person, if any of you. Do we need to explain again how this works and is wildly inaccurate numbers?

2. The highlight video on YouTube has over 3 million views already. People are interested.

3. I'd be interested to know how many YouTube TV STREAMS they had.

4. Who gives a shyt. I'd rather see a game like last night than a boring ass Lakers-Knicks finals with a giant ratings number, which really doesn't mean anything
Dap undap for dissing my Knicks... :birdman:

last NBA finals I watched every game for was dubs/celtics.

it's just facts.

i watched game 1 too and intend to watch the rest, that was an instant classic.

but it's not like denver/heat and celtics/dallas were lighting the world on fire and i would consider myself 1 step above a casual.

first time a finals game felt "skippable" in years were the past two seasons. idk if it says something about me (i also got married and did other shyt with my life in those years) or if the product overall just felt less important.

It's crazy how long it takes us to break out of what was marketed to us, the product was never important :pachaha:

So if everyone in Texas watched the game, but nobody else, it would affect you in some way cause it recorded 30 million viewers? Also how does it affect you?

If I recall right you also used to think charts and record sales are more important than the music.
You don’t recall right

Wait a minute. You think people are actually interested in the NBa in 2020s?

I do, cause cause you were always talking more about numbers, streams, views than the content. Just like you always talk about ratings and stuff as much as you do the actual games.

With the way streaming and cable tv is nowadays, I’m not surprised. Ppl go to bars and watch parties. One stream is shared by multiple parties but I doubt that help the ratings and viewership look great. I’m in a major market and everybody I now watch the game for the most part.
