Not trueLeBron kept the NBA afloat for nearly 20 years and pretty much all of the highest rated regular season and playoff series involve him.
Damn I thought the league was gonna be in big trouble when LeBron retired.
We almost out the dark agesTHE LEAGUE WILL THRIVE AGAIN WHEN BRON RETIRES
HE'S BEEN LIKE A WEIGHT ON THE NBA AND HAS DONE GREAT DAMAGE TO THE BRAND USHERING IN THE BANANA BOAT FRIENDS SUPERTEAM ERA OF OPPONENTS BLOWING KISSES AT EACH OTHER PREGAME INSTEAD OF TALKIN SHIIT..
BUT WERE FINALLY HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION AGAIN
The internet could go out and people will lose connection to everything. I understand going with streaming and all that but totally abandoning terrestrial tv and radio is not the move. We have jumped the shark with putting sports and entertainment shyt on all these different streaming services. We saw what happens after a hurricane hits and you lose every way of communication besides radio. Hell the AWS cloud shyt died and had all of us stressing in the media business and other places. Make the shyt available on streaming AND network tv. You have nothing to lose at this point. The nba don’t put on these big elaborate ass productions so people can watch cut up clips on YouTube later. They want you to watch LIVE. That 5 million number is a good start.. they need to try to break them numbers..point is some people live off the phone/tablet. That's who the league is tryna reach out to by appealing to the streaming services.
Clearly network TV still matters in the grand scheme of things. Use die hards just wish NBC would overhaul even more of what they air to just air more hoops which is wishful thinking because we're misremembering how NBC used to air games.
Why do you nikkas talk out of your ass? When google exists? Not true
Curry is the one who that applies to

you're talking to someone who refuses to stream music and even now, HATES the fact that I have to have some streaming services because I don't have much use for them outside of catching up on an episode of something I missed. The internet could go out and people will lose connection to everything. It's more that ABC doesn't really want that stuff on the network outside of playoff games and MNF (and it took them 2 decades to decide they wanted it back). If it's sports related, it makes more sense for them to air it on their behemoth of a station in ESPN while trying to figure out how to match NBC and CBS in terms of programming.Who would have thought putting games on a platform that can reach more people and letting people know would contribute to more people watching said event.
With a weak economy and most likely of sound economic people take office a decade of poor economic mailese as male investment clears and good investment matures, broadcast network should be the priority for everyone.
Disney has misused abc so badly. Are any love sports set aside for abc?
Yep when PBC was on Fox they averaged minimum 1 million and any big fighters were getting college football numbersAs the phrase goes... Nothing new under the sun
Network TV still has alot of power when it comes to viewership and promotion, just like it did in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. It is why NFL has a very large reach in the US. Before the NBC deal, the NBA had what... maybe 25 total games the entire season on ABC? Having the NBA on network TV will do wonders
Perfect example is Boxing. PPV is cool, but it ruins the viewership numbers for casual fans. One of the highest Boxing matches of all time is Muhammad Ali vs Leon Spinx 2, which had an estimated 90 million viewers, with 47% of all TV sets watching the fight. Can't beat Network TV
They put it on ESPN because of precious corporate politics making abc sports and ESPN sports separate entities.you're talking to someone who refuses to stream music and even now, HATES the fact that I have to have some streaming services because I don't have much use for them outside of catching up on an episode of something I missed.
Now, as far as putting games on there, streaming services are content farms, so it makes sense to have stuff on there (and you can thank the NFL for that). Peacock exists for NBC because they can't put everything they want on the network. Luckily, the NBA is gonna have their time on NBC. Once football ends they'll have Sunday night too. The Coast 2 Coast thing they're doing makes a ton of sense though, because they simply can't do doubleheaders on the network every week. Again, I thought they'd use USA the way they do for Prem League since that channel is just Smackdown, 9-1-1 and SVU.

Makes sense you can tell by his play on th court that he didnt like basketball
WE KNEW NBC AND MJ WOULD BRING THE PPL OUT
JR SMITH SAID HE DOESN'T
WATCH BASKETBALL ANYMORE
BUT HE WANTED TO SEE THE MJ SEGMENT
that handshake deal the NBA give Disney/ABC/ESPN is reallyWho would have thought putting games on a platform that can reach more people and letting people know would contribute to more people watching said event.

.what happens to the rights if so?That said Disney is trying to sell abc, hopefully a buyer can step up with capital so we can have major sports back on broadcast or network TV for all 3 channels and fox.

Ratings jumped while LeBron was no where to be found![]()

If I was on the Board of Governors for the NBA, the only ones who could compete and bid on the main packages would have to be broadcast, especially since the regional networks are dead. Amazon, youtube tv, they could get delayed rights or some cutouts, but it makes no sense for a league to not want their product on broadcast where even people with attentas could see. How the NFL is the only one that grasped that, but seems to be forgetting that, and college football, SEC made sure prime SEC games still were on CBS, Big 10 locked down Fox, Notre Dame locked down NBC. I just don't understand.that handshake deal the NBA give Disney/ABC/ESPN is really.
NBC and Amazon get it. NBC def needs to be the primary Tier 1 rights holder. Amazon 2nd, then ABC/ESPN.
