How was GKMC more accessible than DAMN?

The entirety of 'DAMN' was on the hot 100 on top of having a #1 single and another top 10

DAMN came after Kendrick was already on top and the overall sound of it is different

GKMC put Kendrick on and sounded modern and sonically wasn’t different like his other projects

Section.80, TPAB and DAMN don’t sound like what was out, GKMC was close to the sound of the time

I don't mean just listening to music though or being a fan.

I mean, like I said, Marley Marl literally giving RZA his first equipment to make beats. I mean Jay being under Kane. shyt like that.

Where older artists are either the reason the new guy is in the game, or is seen as a mentor. Mobb Deep doing songs with Rakim. Outkast doing music with Slick Rick, etc.

There is virtually none of that in 2019. Not to the extent of the 80's and 90's anyway.
There’s literally plenty of examples of what you are describing today :francis:

This post makes no sense lol
Yes it does:troll:

I gotta be in a mood for Kendrick. Whereas I can throw on a random drake or cole song and vibe.

Like, I think sing about me, money trees, and duckworth, yah, blacker the berry, how much a dollar cost..etc are better than anything drake or j.cole have ever written, but I gotta be in a mood for them.

Whereas I can throw on come thru, lord knows, cameras, emotionless, power trip, January 28th, crooked smile, or Kevin’s heart at anytime and enjoy them

Breh nobody forgot about Kendrick

The Black Panther soundtrack came out just last year he has done several of his trash features in the last year. Mans was on Power season 5.

Cole up until recently wasn’t very visible himself. You could have done this shyt in the middle of a Kendrick album roll out, and Kendrick is still getting picked.

You’re talking about the three leaders of the 2010’s with deep catalogs that stretch a decade ain’t nobody forget Kendrick.

:unimpressed:

"BP" came out a year and a half ago. February 2018. It's August 2019 man.

Kendrick ain't dropped a real album in 2+ years.

Cole just dropped "KOD" last year. "Revenge Of The Dreamers III" a month ago.

Drake dropped "Scorpion" last year and 2 new songs like 2 months ago.

I realize you partially made this thread to rile up K Dot stans....but to sit here and act like the other two consistently dropping music has nothing to do with the topic at hand....is silly.

Fred.
