Evan turner isn't starting at point

Smart is

Turner just happens to be the ball handler

And we are winning!

Why waste our assets and cap space on a 30 year old point guard when we have smart, turner, pressey for a 3rd of the cost?

read that again and tell me how smart is the point guard. hes just out there guarding points or 2s depending on bradleys assignment...and smart has often come off the bench.

smart turner and pressey or smart, possibly turner and dragic (depending on what we trade)?

we use our money on dragic, use our trade exceptions to pile onto the salary cap and then use our picks to fill the rest.

Agree to disagree

I have no interest in giving up assets and all our cap space for Dragic

@VMR I think Isaiah Thomas is a perfect fit for this team and on a bargain contract (2 more years at 7 million per)

He'd be an excellent sixth man / 3rd guard off the bench...

Thornton and a 1st rounder matches up

hes not a bad fit but hes an iso ball hogger. that is exactly what our offense doesnt need. we have a points by committee approach right now..dragic would enhance that and everyone around him..thomas would take points off of other people and not add much extra.

Point guard isn't a need imo

the biggest is a stud big, particularly a shot blocker and a solid point guard is our second biggest need.

who is realistically an option for us on there that fills a need? aldridge isnt going anywhere, gasol isnt coming here..asik at the right price would be nice but other than that our best fit is deandre and hes not coming here either..even if we offer him the max

we could possibly be able to land dragic and asik and that puts us in a really really nice situational position in addition to our lotto pick

Deandre Jordan is probably the number one target

I like Monroe too, but i wish he were better defensive

Asik is kind of interesting if its a 2 year deal

Obviously Leonard and butler are long shots but I think they'd fit the celtics culture they're trying to create

There are some options

Id say a defensive big man and a small forward are our two needs

I also like Monroe but with Smith gone I feel he is more likely to re-sign in Detroit.

Asik really would be a nice plan b..or in combo as a secondary in a plan A.

Leonard and Butler are not coming to Boston...unlikely to leave current teams.

Ainge was going to get Jordan until Stern nixed the combo trade as illegal. He's obviously a target but...

Id prefer the alternative of Dragic, Asik and Stein if we could make it happen. Stevens likes his combo analytics rotations..he could pair our plus defenders and plus offensive players in two units and we'd have the perfect personnel to do it.

And by the way...Rondo and Dragic have the same agent..we just did Rondo a favor. Quid pro quo
