He's right, not a good look for a broadcast partner to present the game that way. You would never see an NFL broadcast with host/commentators saying they don't know the players or saying current players aren't good and/or not to watch the game like Shaq/Chuck do on the regular.

I feel you, but the NBA seems to be fine with it.

Last few years, during the regular season people tune in more to Skip & Shannon (among others) to hear about the soap opera storylines than tuning in to the actual games themselves.

Reading the comments it's just white people being big mad because black people winning and getting money while coasting on personality but that's why inside the nba is popular personalities.

all these stations care about is RATINGS...nothing more, nothing less. And the show generates great ratings for them.

That's the game, always will be.

It actually does lol

The Inside the NBA show is entertaining but it’s not a good sports show. They get found out every year when the tournament comes around and Turner forces them to do college basketball.
Charles talked about how great of a game Cliff Alexander was having when he was suspended:unimpressed:

It’s embarrassing to watch them talk about basketball, and even more embarrassing to watch them talk about politics and society. Those four have never thought about these topics with any nuance, and can’t be bothered to watch the NBA unless it’s a work night.

Sports media—The TNT TV crew are not journalists and the same is true for ESPN and Fox—is a disaster in this country.

If some random person who didn't know who they were ever tuned in id bet a million dollars that they wouldn't believe they were former basketball players other than the fact that Chuck and Shaq are the epitome of dumb jock stereotypes.

When it comes to journalism in America fox News killed it with their talking head 24/7 formula, every other network followed it and its 0 journalism and all opinions. It carried over to sports and its completely awful.

I agree with him. It's a part of the reason I stopped watching their show a couple years ago, or if I am watching a TNT game, I play music or a podcast during pre-game and the halftime show.

Who He Play For? is funny when you're talking about garbage time players, but I remember distinctly a couple of years ago listening to Shaq and Chuck talk about a team (I think it was the Bucks) and how they play, and it hit me like ":ohhh: these guys don't watch Bucks games at all"

Those guys know the sport of basketball better than I'll ever know it, but I shouldn't be watching their show thinking "They know basketball better than me, but I know the current NBA better than them", and it goes beyond just knowing players names.

you're not a HOF NBA player paid to do analysis either :yeshrug:

so knowing niccas names or of their mere presence is ESPN-level analysis? :mjlol:
They're not paid to be analysts, they're paid to be entertaining.

Have you seen the ratings for Undisputed? I think WNBA games get better ratings than that show.:mjlol:
