I hate this shyt.
How much EXTRA money did the Lakers make off those 5 titles? Kobe's just getting a portion of what he deserves.
If you're in a great spot like Tim Duncan and you've been playing 15+ years and taking a pay cut can bring in better players to EXTEND ur career so you dont have to exert yourself so much, then it's feasible. But if I'm a younger player, I'm taking the money and just hope my team can win.
Why should the player have to essentially do the GM's job too?
Am i lying? He probably should have went to another team if he wanted to close out his career with another title
I just don't like the un guaranteed fashion of this.

I'm not arguing truth. I'm arguing about the unfair system. Why should a superstar have to take less money to compete. Shouldn't the organization be able to put adequate pieces around him without him being short changed?
LeBron wants max money. Why should he take anything less regardless of what type of team is around him? It's simply not fair.
You sound all ho-hum about this shyt now but wait until '16 when KD is potentially a free agent. And he's shopping the market. You'll be no better than these other fan bases clamoring for these other dudes.

I don't make the standard. I agree if you're good enough and generate revenue for a team and a city you should get paid accordingly.
However, let's not act like people don't hold it over guys like Charles Barkley head for being ringless.

Lebron, given his stature, has to take max money. He's the best player and he could fukk up the contracts of others for years if he doesn't take it because they could always say, why do you need max money? Lebron didn't take max money and we all know you are not as good as him. Very slippery slope.

He doesn't. The issue is that you count the amount of NBA bargain deals on one hand, maybe 2
the non guaranteed aint happeing though, but at least this way you'll give more of a chance to smaller markets to bring in a guy. Let's say with a 70 million hard cap that If Utah wants to give Kyrie 30 mill a year to entice him and use the remaining 40 to fill out the other 11 slots on a team, then so be it.
