before Block buster died I was running around the city opening new accounts all over the place with no credit card on file, renting shyt and disappearing

And even when Netflix was picking up steam after, they were like "we wont do that, people dont want movies in the mail :mjlol:"
Realistically, it was the streaming service that took down blockbuster not their early mail rental service.
In the end we all took the L though, because Blockbuster used to have every new release from every studio, now we got to have 7 monthly subscriptions to watch all the same shyt.

Nah that was later.

Blockbuster was alredy on its final legs when Netflix streaming was becoming big. Redbox, Netflix, and other alternative rentals were what was closing down blockbuster brick and mortar stores, not streaming.
