Much of the money and industry flows through blue area big cities, so idk how the inbred countryside cacs would deal with that. There are like 20 other states on that map. I was just illustrating how low in population that region of America is. Their cows out number them.

If they sit in the mountains, they lose what little resources they have. They don't have the manpower to protect all of their assets.

Well, we self sustain out in Cali. We can support ourselves unlike others. While yes, we do have a small group that wants to politically anex, doesn't every state then technically? Besides, those counties are north of the Sac/Tahoe line. They'd bend the knee quickly just for protection. The worse thing for everyone else is that Cali folks will definitely protect their own, yall out of staters wont understand. Policies wise- All our illegals will be granted citizenship with 2 years front line military duty. Nobody will edge us in that category.
Gonna have the technology edge here too. Home of Marines down at Camp Pendleton. The Home of the Pacific fleet in San Diego (Navy). The 2nd largest Air Force Base at Edward's. Nevada would automatically merge with Cali. Vegas and Reno are mostly Cali transplants and they'd want that protection due to lack of resources.
South Carolina would be in that Florida Alliance.
