Acclaimed by whom though?
Kendrick's force fed media presence is nowhere to be found amongst the general public especially black people.

Besides literally every music critic that matters?

You out there taking a consensus, breh? :mjlol:

How many white people were included in your sample? Or you're just specifically looking for music that black people listen to?
Fukk outta here with that shyt.

If that shyt doenst coincide with the general public, fukk it.
And my white friends dont talk about him either.
I'm looking at the BIG picture
Supposedly has a plat album in the 2010's
Has "critical acclaim"

But upon review
Singles (FROM SO CALLED CLASSIC ALBUMS) arent doing too good at all considering how large he's supposed to be
Doesnt run the club, doesnt run the streets, views for sinlges arent too good for how big and great he allegedly is.
Still hasnt headlined a big tour like others in his sales bracket.
shyt aint matching up AT ALL

Making excuses for him? I don't recall making any excuses for anybody. Just stating facts.

You have a decent point about "I", 'cept for the fact that the studio version wasn't used for the album and the live version was used for an interlude more or less. Needless to say, I was ecstatic that the album did not sound like that. And yes, I do believe that song was geared towards radio, although it STILL sounded like nothing else at the moment.

DMX and 2Pac didn't have machines behind them? My exact point is that Kendrick is one of those artists that you're talking about. Somebody who makes songs that aren't geared towards radio but still achieve mainstream success by just making dope music. Thank you for strengthening my point.

I just don't know where y'all standards are at for this hip hop shyt if Kendrick isn't one of the best doing it right now.
It sounds like its was chasing Pharrell "Happy" success and dollars

Kdot aint that hot

...and Iggy Azalea has 668,306,158 for Fancy. Is she "hotter" than Big Sean and Kendrick by your criteria? Maybe I'm from a different era, but YouTube views don't dictate what's hot to me.

Saying he didnt have radio songs when "I" clearly is one, wouldnt be a "FACT" IN fact it's a bold face lie.
I'm saying none of kdots songs meant what those dmx and 2pac songs meant to the general public.
Nor is kdot anywhere near as big a star as X or pac was. Despite his push.
Those songs by X and pac had the hood on smash.
Young thug is more popular in the black community than kendrick. As is meek mill,as is big sean,as is ross as is fab.
kdot is one big front

I said he didn't have any radio singles off of TPAB. The studio version of "i" was not on To Pimp A Butterfly, like I previously stated. Reading is fun, huh?
:russ::russ::russ:@ "bold faced lie"... You're really in your feelings about this whole thing, huh?

I don't tend to favor music that "runs the streets" or "runs the clubs" because I'm a grown ass man and I actually enjoy "listening" to music. Clearly we have different barometers for what qualifies as dope. You can have all that club/street shyt. I'm good.

It sounds like its was chasing Pharrell "Happy" success and dollars

Meh. I disagree. Then again, I don't know why "chasing success" would be a criticism.

TPAB doesn't really have any big singles. Alright and Kunta did decent on urban stations but that's it. I heard Swimming Pools more on the radio last year than any TPAB track.

But radio doesn't determine quality so who cares. He released an amazing album that isn't mainstream at all, and we're still talking about it nearly a year later.

Kendrick probably gotta go for a bigger audience next time tho. People want that GKMC sound.

Be clear when I talk varying numbers and lack of street influence,I'm pointing out how fraudulent his position is. I think Kendrick is wack because he had weak flows, weak hooks and is fake deep on the Mic and just. Plain corny.

Damn, the Kendrick haters are furious up in this thread. It's just one lil performance fam.... Why y'all so upset that a lot people enjoyed it and enjoy the music dude is making?

I just think it's dope that he breaks out new material for live performances rather than just playing the songs everybody knows over and over again...
