First off, no where in the article does it say that the NBA is banning players from legally owning guns.
And nowhere does it say they can't own firearms, I'm sure legally owned guns are fine, but dudes getting arrested with illegal guns, or shooting themselves or some shyt, that is something that will void your contract. The NBA contracts are iron clad, you could kill someone right now and there's not much the team can do to void your shyt. Gilbert Arenas still was getting paid after he brought a pistol to the arena, I'm going to bet that in the new CBA you can get your contract thrown in the bushes over that.
That's what I'm saying, where does he see this provision???

:snoop:

The second amendment, along with other Bill of Rights amendments, are about what the GOVERNMENT cannot infringe upon, NOT a private party. That's why people so badly misinterpret the First Amendment's Freedom of Speech. A private actor can prohibit speech, but the government cannot for certain speeches. If the NBA, as a private party, and the NBAPA as private parties, want to enter into a mutual contract to prohibit guns or speech or religious practices, or whatever, they surely can do that if want.

Get it now?

That's all you had to say.

:laff: You lost

I thought you said you were done.

And I already stated that I wasn't speaking in only employment when I mentioned that. So, you brought up a bad point to not even address the obvious L you have taken in this thread. Just made yourself look dumber.

You are incredibly stupid. Someone brings up a federal statute regarding employment discrimination that didn't have anything to do with my point. Not only that, but a federal statute is not the constitution. Which was your horrible point from the get go. The more you post, the dumber you look. And every single poster in this thread has said the same thing about your lack of simple understanding yet you still want to look dumb. It's like you enjoy being stupid.

They wouldn't put that firearm clause into an agreement in the NFL or MLB.
NFL don't need it, they can just rip up your contract and throw you in the bushes if they want to.

The NBA didn't have it in an agreement like the MLB doesn't....then Gilbert Arenas happened. Let Clayton Kershaw shoot himself in the hand rendering himself useless for a season and damaged thereafter whilst making $30M a year and I bet they'd put a clause in the next CBA too

This is going to get ugly. This would be fine in the 90s cause they would still do it but just not get caught. Now with snap and Facebook live and tmz there are going to be a lot of stories in the summer time

You're saying, in that last quote, that they can't. I repeat, you said they can't. Are you seriously this dumb?

He was trying to argue that he's a bigger expert on gun safety than me because he got shot when he got a gun pulled on him and I didn't. :lolbron:

Have you ever been shot?
Shot at?
Had a gun pulled out on you?
No, no, yes.
Ok, your first 2 answers are no, and my answers are all yes.

:mjlol1:Because thieves are sitting at home reading up on the new NBA collective bargaining agreement and checking if they can rob NBA players or not.

:mjlol1:Because NBA players having guns stopped them from ever getting robbed before.

:mjlol1:The shyt that you nikkas say on here.

That was killing me too. :dead:

So fukking wack :mindblown:

When's the last time someone got injured on a jet ski?

Duke football player critically injured in jet-ski accident

Just so you know: Discrimination prevention enshrined in the 14th amendment, and extended by law and caselaw, specifically has been applied to private parties. I cannot think of a single prohibition in the Bill of Rights (First 10 Amendments) that has been applied to private parties. I might be wrong, but the main ones (2nd amendment, free speech) are limited to governments. Hell, there was a time such prohibitions were only thought to apply to the federal government, not state government.

Employment discrimination is a creation of STatute. It has some basis in expanded thinking of COnstitutional protection, but that's largely 14th amendment, not the Bill of Rights.
