That's the part I was curious about. The article is really vague.

They can probably even ban things like sports hunting under the guise of it being recreational and unnecessary like jet skis. But there is no way they can say you can't have a legal licensed weapon on your private property. That would be unprecedented.

This seems like a "Gilbert Arenas" type rule if anything...
Yeah you're making a point that @Ronnie Lott isn't making. I really don't think the league is going to send people to every player's home to search to see if they are owning any guns. This is likely more about you cannot bring guns to the arena.

@Ronnie Lott was talking about superseding the constitution, then said the players wouldn't agree to this, but both are pretty wrong. Clearly we shytted on his constitutional argument. Now with the "players wouldn't agree to this" shyt, seeing how the agreement in principle is already in place, safe to say the CBA is ready to pass with the final vote.

Go back and read my previous posts. :heh:
I stand on what I said :manny: The NBA will never forbid players from legally owning a firearm
What about this constitutional barrier you were referring to? It's a simple question.

I think it'll be provisions in the event a player shoots themselves, or gets arrested with a firearm, the players wouldn't agree to it if it were outright non-ownership of guns. Right now, if a dude shot himself and couldn't play for the season their team would try to void their contract and the union would fight it and most likely win. Right now it seems like the only way to void contracts is if someone fails a physical after signing one. Arenas & Crittenton were suspended with pay, while Javaris would have no doubt been voided if they could have.

Yea the article is vague, but my guess is that they'll forbade the use of guns, so no hunting, no gun ranges etc with the aim at preventing the case of them paying for a player having shot themselves. The article lists it as a banned 'activity.' I also expect that the same will be true of fireworks. They'll forbid them from using them but not owning, possessing them provided they're legal in that jurisdiction.

@Ronnie Lott is a shytty poster in general, he makes a stupid point then argues it to death and anyone that comes along and makes a better argument for his stupid point he'll be like "Yeah, that's what I was saying" but he's too dumb to actually say what it is he's co-signing.

EVERY single player in that pic felt thought this was a good idea

:snoop:

Even Mike Miller in the cut laughing

:russ:

Arenas laughing then, but I bet if you ask him now after Javaris has killed someone he probably got the :merchant: face anytime someone mentions his name.
