2. The Incident Began When One of the Victims Threw a Pen at Cedeno, a Witness Says
A witness told the New York Post that one of the victims was throwing pens across the room during class when Cedeno was hit.

Jomarlyn Colon, 16, told the New York Post that Cedeno demanded to know who threw the pen. That’s when McCree stepped said he did it and told Cedeno it was an accident. Cedeno then pulled a knife out of his pocket.



Investigators believe Abel Cedeno, 18, plunged the tool into a Matthew McCree, 15, and Ariane LaBoy, 16, around 10:50 a.m. on the fifth floor of the Urban Assembly School for Wildlife Conservation on Mohegan Avenue in East Tremont, sources said.

One of the victims was throwing pens across the room in the middle of a third-period U.S. history class when Cedeno was hit, according to witness Jomarlyn Colon, 16, who was in the classroom at the time.

Cedeno demanded to know who did it, and when the McCree stepped forward to tell him it was an accident, Cedeno pulled a knife out of his front pocket, she said. It was a three-inch switchblade, Police Chief Robert Boyce said during a press conference later in the day.

McCree moved in to strike Cedeno, and Cedeno plunged the blade into the young man’s chest, Colon said.

Then LaBoy confronted the crazed classmate, and Cedeno stabbed him in the chest too, according to Colon.

“He went crazy,” Colon said.

2.The offender was the "victim" of bullying from another group
3.The offender bought the knife two weeks previously.
4.The latino classmate witness did not specifically state they were throwing PENS/PENCILS/PAPER AT the offender.
5.The offender pulled out a knife (according to verified witness testimony) on the victim before any physical contact was made.
6.The other victim attempted to aid the original victim and was also stabbed with the illegal switchblade knife.

15 and 18 isn't a huge age difference especially in high-school and the 15 year old decided age wasn't a deterrent when he behaved the way he did.
