Y’all try the same telling em you from Gary, Indiana. Ole bum ass nikkas :umad:
Yo, it’s the birthplace of the Jackson family and Freddie Gibbs :troll:
I would say everyone needs to live in NYC for a short while (1 -2 years max)

1) crowded
2) dirty
3) weather trash 10 months out the year
4) expensive
5) lack of space
6) public transportation
8) in my line of work some of the staff extremely lazy compared to other cities
9) beaches are trash

Pros
1) any type of food you want
2) native NYers are some of the friendliest and most interesting people I’ve met
3) something to do 365 days a year
How is the weather trash 10 months out the year? That’s a god damn lie. We have 4 seasons our winters are milder than most cities on the East Coast and in the Midwest. :heh:

This isn’t the city for year round warm weather and beaches :camby:

For all it’s faults what other city has a 24 hour transportation system with the pricing and sheer reach of NYC? :comeon:

Did you not expect a city of 9M to be crowded and dirty? Move to Queens or something nikka.

Winter is trash polar vortex in November , summer is extra trash humid and disgusting outside, compound that with having subway stations that have no air.

Don’t give me the 4 seasons bullshyt either because spring and fall last 4 weeks max. I get it NYC your home sonyou gonna try to defend it

This nikka thinks NYC of all places is a polar vortex lmaooo

Yeah you not built for living on this side of the map. NYC average temp was high 55, low 42 in November but this nikka claims its a freezing polar vortex.

Go back to LA p*ssy :umad:

Best transit system in America? A system where they don’t even have AC on the platforms?

No train barriers to protect civilians from being pushed over by crazy ass people

No protection for people especially late at night. Right now I can log off if I want to and run in the station with a gun and shoot someone

Yeah you can travel anywhere for $2.75 but you deal with constant train delays and overcrowded trains. Annoying ass panhandlers trying to force you to give them money

Only running express trains for short periods instead of 24/7. Especially at nighttime when people wanna get home and everyone is falling asleep in the train cause it’s taking too long

NYC Subways is trash compared to Europe and Asian but I agree with pigeon it is the best in America.

24/7, express trains and 90% of people who move to NYC don’t think of purchasing a car.

Imagine if NYC had DCs subway system I’m pretty sure New Yorkers would be protesting at the fact that there would be no express service and that instead of a flat 2.75 fare they would have to start paying by the mile.

As frustrated as I get with the subway system I am happy that with one fair you can travel throughout all 5 boroughs with a free transfer to other trains and a 2 hour limit transfer to a bus.

Okay. Let me break this down.

The MTA is running construction at night on the 2 & 3 subway lines which run up the middle of Harlem via Lenox Avenue.

They have shuttle buses that run from 96th street (where that photo was taken) to either the Grand Concourse in the Bronx where they can connect to the 2 subway line going up further in the X. Or the other shuttle bus route goes to 7th ave & 148th in Harlem.

Usually they have multiple buses pull up to pick the people up. They also wait until their is a large amount of people on the buses until they dispatch them out. And the shuttle buses are free.

Plus the MTA has posters all in the stations alerting customers to the service disruptions.

If you're going to shyt on NYC, at least have some context.

This is what happens when infrastructure isn't updated. Cuomo is to blame, but honestly, every administration has dragged their feet to fix things. It's the same over in NJ. A train on my line into NYC is canceled every single morning. Fall is right around the corner. So there will be more delays because of wet leaves on the tracks. And not only that, NJTranist operates on the Northeast Corridor, and the federal government doesn't want to pay it's share to update anything. So when the portal bridge is opened, a lot of times that shyt doesn't close correctly. So shyt is delayed for hours, until someone from Amtrak comes with a sledgehammer to knock it back in place. Then there's the Hudson River tunnels that are crumbling. It's only a matter of time when both will have to be closed. If that happens... well I already told my manager if that happens I want to transfer to the NJ office. And my coworkers in Westchester and Long Island aren't too fond of Metro North and the LIRR either. All of this shyt is a mess.

The fact that they couldn’t come together to expand the tunnel under the Hudson did it for me.

The PATH subway should also be extended to Staten Island.

Staten Island people from what I understand aren’t too pleased using the Express Busses which charge you double but sit in traffic.

I guess the new HOV lanes in SIE probably did a little to help.

Pretty crazy how back in the early 1900s the subways in nyc were amazing. And also with less technology those workers built the subways quick.

But then it hit me that back then the subway in nyc was privately run and was three competing subway lines. IRT, IND and BMT.

Ever since these lines merged and I guess MTA somewhat became government run it has been nothing but a shyt show.

These are one of the few republican rhetorics I have to agree with. Private companies just know how to get the job done more efficiently.

@Nima0614 people who claim it’s a GOAT city are voicing their opinion. It’s not one of the most popular cities in the world for no reason.

So I guess with your rhetoric people who claim LA, SF, London etc to be GOAT cities are full of shyt?

You sound dumb.
