Don't quote me you bytchass nikka

gSWah3I.jpg

1.) what does that matter? i could say the same thing about rakim and ask how many all-time greats that came after rakim, sound like him? NONE.

2.) if you need to ask, then you shouldnt be arguing.

3.) lol @ 3 stacks influencing half the rappers in hip-hop. more like half of the weirdos & faq rappers.

Um, every rapper spitting intricate rhymes sounds like rakim

And yeah, Kendrick is a "weirdo" and a "faq" with the most critically acclaimed album of the past 5 years, right. GTFO

And I do need to ask because you obviously don't know what the hell you were talking about and how much Rakim changed the game.

What's not true? What u saying has nothing to do with what I'm sayin. I'm sayin us New Yorkers get criticized for regional bias when they just as biased as us if not more..

And I'm saying that's not true because everybody loved and respected New York until they started disrespecting everybody else.

Why did you take westside connection so personal when he was obviously talking about critics and haters?Oh because your from NY? Why is Cube not allowed to be offended by haters, yet you NY's can be offended by what WC said that wasn't even about you, unless the shoe fit:sas1:...you had less reason to be upset than the janitor at badboy records yet strangely enough, some of yall tight.

Funny to hear this "it was just a few" and "mecca envy talk"....as if it wasn't NY's jealousy and bitterness that caused these feelings towards NY and "rivalrys" to began with....I think its safe to admit the west and south generally either had love or indifference towards the east coast....you mean to tell me all the booing rappers claim to have faced in NY,Pac hearing NY rappers get home and talk slick about the west coast was made up?you mean to tell me I didn't really hear Slick Rick talkin crazy about west coast rap in a interview?as a one time fan of Slick Rick that actually stung a little hearing it decades after the fact, fukk Slick Rick:mjcry:

You mean to tell me Tim Dogg,Slick Rick, and these other rappers went maverick and weren't speaking to the choir:comeon:? They obviously knew there was a large enough demographic with the same feelings in NY,they certainly was going to alienate the many to cater to the views of "just a couple nikkas:troll:"

New York was hating on the west coast because we blew up and was the shyt and yall was no longer the mecca/center of attention, same way we saw a decade later when the south got the same shyt thrown at them by rappers/critics/fans.....Your right that regionalism is everywhere, but you cant compare what was our indifference to jealousy and envy you gave us for simply doing our thing:blessed:

If west coasters and southeners get kicks out of kicking you while your down or gloating in your face, you cant compare the two....It goes back to the idea that a black person cant be racist:manny:...Our jokes, gloating and hating was in response, theres only one jealous bitter region and it aint west coast, midwest or the south:sas2:

If Scarface is "sometimes" then half of the NY nikkas being mentioned in this thread are "never".

NY unarguably has the most hip hop legends... There's different levels to it though. nikkas like Jadakiss ain't seeing Face any day of the year period even though he's a legend in his own right.

what NY rappers are you referring to?

not arguing for jada but he moreso gets mentioned as a top 5 emcee, rather than a top 5 artist. problem is, people are too lazy to make that distinction.

See this is why you're one of the worst posters in the booth :snoop:

From texas to florida 40 will get more club dates than them nikkas and it's not even up for discussion. He always had those markets on lock. Juelz Santana my nikka? :mjlol:

You also said working with lil john didn't help him break his regional limitations. :jbhmm:

So going gold with a critically acclaimed album, spearheaded by a top 10 Billboard Hot Rap Tracks single (which ushered in a nationwide recognition of the hyphy movement), followed up with a gold single (u and dat) is considered not breaking regional limitations in this post napster era?

It's 2015 and nikkas still smokin yola out of car antennas. Put the pipe down my nikka

the "youre one of the worst posters in the booth" nonsense is kid chit that you dont even believe. an even some of the corniest lames stopped using lines like those as copouts years ago. youre not even hip enough to keep up with them.

and youre basing 40s drawing power on what? cuz youre reppin says youre from oakland, and all your posts that i actually paid attention to are filled with the most bizarre bay area homer rhetoric imaginable.

40 went gold and still couldnt tour off of it. so what does that tell you? and like i said earlier, he always had plaques. he knows whose buttering most of that plate tho.

what NY rappers are you referring to?

Anybody in The Lox
Anybody in Dipset
Anybody in DITC

New Yorkers love these dudes to the point where they hold them up as goats... Despite that literally none of them have the track record to fukk with dudes like Jay-Z, Nas or even Ghostface. Most of them other than Camron and Big Pun would be local legend status no different from local legends in other scenes like The Jacka, Z-Ro, etc. if not for the fact that the NY media bigged them up. Nothing wrong with that but it's a lot of dudes on the other coasts who are as talented and in some cases have better discographies but don't get the same due.

Scarface is on a different level than any of the above (other than nas, jay and ghost) period.

not arguing for jada but he moreso gets mentioned as a top 5 emcee, rather than a top 5 artist. problem is, people are too lazy to make that distinction.

I wouldn't even say top 5 emcee... Top 5 lyricist maybe if you're partial to New York punch line rapping. Jada's dope but he's not a goat.

So, anybody talking that east/west shyt I not fully informed and I know so.
As I was actually live in the flesh around scoop Jackson.
listening to my lord fineese vinyl in his crib 1200.

Art Barr

scoop jackson?

the cool ass dude from espn?

or is there another scoop jackson?

Why you think Big said "I f*ck with sprinkle me, duke"?

:comeon:

because e-40's homies were holding him at gunpoint.

you mean to tell me I didn't really hear Slick Rick talkin crazy about west coast rap in a interview?as a one time fan of Slick Rick that

New York was hating on the west coast because we blew up and was the shyt and yall was no longer the mecca/center of attention, same way we saw a decade later when the south got the same shyt thrown at them by rappers/critics/fans.....Your right that regionalism is everywhere, but you cant compare what was our indifference to jealousy and envy you gave us for simply doing our thing

that slick rick interview occured when the west coast was still green and before they hit their stride. alot of the stuff they were doing back then was indeed wack. and in the interviews, he even said theyll get it eventually.

and where you get all this "we" talk from? i thought you werent west coast?

lets not act like alot of west coasters dont harbor the same criticisms about what the south has been doing the past decade.

Scarface is undebatably a more skilled musician than Jadakiss, the discographies speak to that. Jadakiss is undebatably a more technical lyricist than Scarface... This thread is not exclusively about who the best lyricist is though.

And beyond all of that, there are a lot of lyricists out west more skilled than Jadakiss who don't get half that man's due despite having better discographies for seemingly no reason other than they're not from NY. That is what this thread is about

jada is more than just a better lyricist. hes an all-around better emcee than scarface.
scarface is historically a better artist tho.

who are these west coast lyricists that are better than jadakiss?

NY knee grows falling back on that why you got NY on your mind/in your mouth/sucking NY dikk/y'all jealous of the Mecca shyt again...LOL.

half of the people saying this arent even from NY.

really, people on both sides of this argument are full of chit. and very few people want to keep it 100 on either side. the result is a lifetime debate that never gets anywhere.

1.) no they dont. rakim isnt even the 1st to use intricate rhymes, so how is everybody that does such automatically influenced by rakim? that makes no sense.

2.) you do realize, that alot of the critics behind the magazine ratings that you dudes worship are weirdos & faqs themselves right? theres no coincidence. not to mention, that alot of these high marks are paid for - kendrick's being amongst the most obvious.

3.) you need to ask because you need to go do some research. i wouldve just answered your question str8 up, but you tried to get snotty so i'll just let you look foolish in the meantime.

i dont really see the point of this.

well for starters, alot of these guys do indeed have track records to f*ck with jay, nas & especially ghostface.

ive never heard of anybody from DITC being considered a goat, except big l. and DITC are indeed local and/or regional guys except for fat joe. i dont know who told you otherwise.

lol @ the lox and especially dipset being compared to local legends.

never heard any goat talk involving anybody from lox or dipset except the great jada debate. if dipset is any goat talk, its for them as a crew and definitely as a movement.

Have you ever been to nyc?:duck:

Because honestly the average person in nyc couldn't name all the members of DITC so the lie detector determined that is a lie.
You said anybody in the lox, but other than Jada nobody puts the other two as goats well three if you want to count former member J-hood
Finally dipset as a collective is revered as a goat group from ny, but individually nobody is really placing them in the top 5.
