get on a Manhattan bound 4,5,6, 2,3, or A,C,E at 8 am.let us know how that works.

believe us, they are a century behind the demnd
To be fair, I didn't really take the train during rush hour

But I never had a bad experience, and I went all over the city. That could very well be different if I lived there full time and had to take the train to work every morning.
I never understood how a world class city has such shyt transportation.
I mean well I guess I do, fukking crooks running it and crooked ass politicians.:francis:
For all its flaws, it's a pretty damn good transit system

How many other US cities have trains running between midnight and 5AM? Can you even get by in LA without driving?

What other city has the ridership to justify such an extensive system. if you look at the revenue they collect. they should be doing much better. large areas of the city are under served.

there is an entire borough with no rail connection to the rest of the city and the lines we have simply can not efficiently accommodate the morning and evening rush.

other cities have parking and 8 lane highways, we don't. MTA is joke breh. this system is beyond capacity and many times you'll have to let 2 or more PACKED trains pass you to find one to squeeze into

The 24/7 running is kind of a disadvantage. It makes repairs take much longer and harder for consistent station maintenance. Outta any major city in the world, we do pay the least as far as fare when you compare how far that one fare can take you.

the D train is always on some bullshyt, shyt be jam packed and take like 15 minutes for the next one to arrive.

2/3 at 8am is hell, same during rush hour. One train is impossible at 5/6 from 59st

they keep raising prices and providing even more unreliable service

My pops been driving 7 train for 20 years.

Upper management is corrupt, workers unions are corrupt and mainly the fault lies with the Mayors and Governors both past and present from aiding and abetting the corruption in Albany for almost 100 years now and probably even before that.

The solution for the average everyday dude is to work harder to upgrade your gig to get something to allow for remote working opportunities which is what I am doing.

Something where I'll only have to be in the Office like 3x a week. Get those tech careers man

we do pay the least, but thats because of our ridership. other cities have the opposite problem with empty trains and poor ridership.

im saying for a system with so much revenue we should have more lines on the east side, automated trains like the L on the other lines to fit more trains and signals that dont malfunction every other day.

i take the D train everyday (pause) and almost never make it from 125 to 59th with out stopping due to "train traffic ahead" made me late today.

My disgust for the 2/5 in the morning is so high that i take a dollar cab to the B/Q in the mornings just so i can make it to work on time.

If i take the 2/5 i have to leave my house an extra 20-30 mins earlier because of the potential fukkery that can and does arise with that line. :francis:

Agree with the above. Every other major city you pay based on distance traveled. NYC subway is also only one of the only rapid transit systems in the world that runs 24/7. Subway riders are actually kind of spoiled.

The trade off is other rapid-transit systems in other cities are much better maintained. Also the NYC subway is older than all of the others except London. If they developed it today it'd be a lot better planned than the competitive clusterfukk that was the IRT, IND and BMT.
