I think you're both right if that makes any senseIt also had the Nation of Islam revival. Had black people wearing "X" on the shirts. Had HBCUs being the thing to be. Had Malcolm X getting respect from the young generation.
yes there was a lot of fukk shyt going on especially in regards to the crack epidemic but there was also an elevated level of consciousness
I don't think they have to be mutually exclusive
this topic is definitely deserving of further discussion because those two realities in the Black community at the time, being diametrically opposed, is a pretty wild dichotomy
