Way too much risk making this trade. If there were injury sliders and you had them off, then Dallas is one of the best defensive teams with athleticism and size everywhere with a dynamic playmaker in Kyrie

Worst case scenario happened with AD's injury and Kyrie's injury, so off-loading Luka was a failure for the foreseeable future. Mavs won't have their whole team back for 2 years and everyone will be 2 years older. And they don't have a lot of picks to use to deal for talent or add young cheap talent to the roster.

It doesn’t but keeping him doesn’t either honestly because kyrie still would’ve gotten hurt. That’s a year gone part of next year gone too. You gotta pay pj, Daniel, Marshall, kyrie. Then also you give him the super max now you gonna have to move either Daniel or lively probably Daniel you gotta move pj probably too
So you agree with me he had bullshyt reasoning then is what I'm reading?

TYRONE GA!
Trading Luka is understandable but Dallas coulda got a haul

Coulda got damn near Any young player(besides wemby) in the league and picks ,that could help you sustain for the foreseeable future. That’s where Dallas f’d up trading for 30+ injury prone player and a role player :smh:
Nico still wanted to compete at a championship level.

Yes, he would have gotten a haul, but he wanted to still be a top team in the West. If Kyrie and AD were both healthy, they probably would have been. Of course the issue is that both aren't exactly the poster children of health.

Westside
Luka plays no defense

I told everyone I knew when they made the trade it didn’t make the Lakers better defensively

Honestly it’s a wash with both players

One thing you know for SURE with Luka and AD is that they will both be hurt at some point.

You think if the mavs called Minnesota and offered Luka for edwards minny saying nah? :usure: they coulda still competed for a championship with edwards now and in the future with kyrie & that mavs frontline who already was good without ad.

I disagree teams not giving up guys who play both ways for a dude who only plays one way and has to have the perfect team around him to win

Luka is a star that will draw fans, sponsors and most importantly revenue

Nobody cares about that 2 way stuff surround him with defenders. Dude is a top 5 player , pg is a 2 way player who ain’t even close to Luka level

He was right but he made the trade to early.

I think it was reported that they wanted Giannis initially before moving on to AD. Well no one saw the Dame injury coming and now that the Bucks got first round bounced, seems like Giannis might be more in play for trading now than he was.

Nico is kicking himself for not waiting.
