Way too much risk making this trade. If there were injury sliders and you had them off, then Dallas is one of the best defensive teams with athleticism and size everywhere with a dynamic playmaker in Kyrie

Worst case scenario happened with AD's injury and Kyrie's injury, so off-loading Luka was a failure for the foreseeable future. Mavs won't have their whole team back for 2 years and everyone will be 2 years older. And they don't have a lot of picks to use to deal for talent or add young cheap talent to the roster.

You think if the mavs called Minnesota and offered Luka for edwards minny saying nah? they coulda still competed for a championship with edwards now and in the future with kyrie & that mavs frontline who already was good without ad.
