Nico taking the fall for this, but ownership pushed this trade.

No way he pulls the trigger on this trade without the blessing of ownership with a player like Luka.

Bottom line is ownership saw something they didn’t like in Luka and they didn’t think it would be wise to invest nearly half of billion dollars in him.

Maybe it was him chronically being out of shape or other lifestyle choices but they didn’t think he’d be a great long term investment for whatever reason and they green lit him being moved and Nico just got what he could.

Ownership should have let this play out and re-signed him. They could have gotten much more for him on the open market. I do put some of that on Nico.

You think if the mavs called Minnesota and offered Luka for edwards minny saying nah? :usure: they coulda still competed for a championship with edwards now and in the future with kyrie & that mavs frontline who already was good without ad.

Ant for Luka straight up is a retarded trade. Ants biggest demerit is his shot selection but hell still play defense and make the correct play, is younger, and isnt a slob.

We seen what a team seemingly perfect for luka did last year. He flamed out we still dont know ant peak

The owners didn't wanna give Luka almost 70 million a year and destroy any chance of building a competent roster with his work ethic.

Nico is the scapegoat, but if the owners wanted to keep Luka they would have.

That second apron REALLY screwed shyt up. NBAPA are morons for agreeing to that dumb shyt. you really looking at two max players tops and role players or hoping you got some beast ass rookie. shyt turning into the NFL with QB contracts fukking up team building.

If you guys can say “if AD is healthy” every year of that man career other posters can start saying “if Luka gets in shape”

All these arguments disregarding how Mavs fans feel by the way

Went from the Finals last year to not in the playoffs this year… “if AD is healthy” the nikka played 8 games for the Mavs and was wobbling around during the play in

STFU
Ngl we don’t care how Mavs fans feel

I'm wondering if the owners are trying to reduce player salaries. They know if players want to leave small market teams to join the popular destinations (NY, LA, Miami), they will either have to take a paycut to join them or deal with getting paid the max on a team in an undesirable location.

It's popular to troll right now on this topic,

but objectively speaking this dude fukked up entire Mavs franchise. Whatever bad Luka was doing on defense, those guys went to the finals and added Klay to the mix. Soon as he trades Luka, that mr. glass AD gets injured, then they put pressure on Kyrie and he suffers a season ending injury (will probably miss entire next season), many other players suffered injuries as well, cause they had to carry more on offense, when they were built to play defense, hit open shots and hustle while Luka and Kyrie were doing their thing on offense.

That's a fireable GM moves.

Giannis and Luka aren’t even close be fr :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol: and okc isn’t blowing up their 67 win team for anybody

1- In a normal situation, if they actually went around that league, 25 year old Luka would net the same, if not more, than 30 year old Giannis

2- Geezus you nggas love to argue. Hypothetical . The point in mentioning OKC is in gauging value. You trade Luka you should have a future star plus picks, not old ass AD

You can’t be right about executing a trade like this if you receive an older, more injury prone player as the return.

With that being said unless Luka gets into great shape his decline isn’t just going to be on the defensive end ..At this weight he cant get all the way to the he rim like he used to consistently so he relies on his great shot making ability ..But if he continues to slow whether it’s because of his weight or injuries that’s going to be infinitely harder to pull off.

The Lakers better have him doing Marine drills in the offseason

:comeon:

Cmon now, that’s obviously influenced by the post-trade narrative. It’s Luka Doncic. Fat, no D, he’s still on the absolute shortest list of most valuable commodities in all of sports, let alone the NBA.

And if someone says ‘hypothetical’ yet you still latch onto it yea you looking to argue
