But that leads back to some of the women's complaints in the original tweet. If men are cool with pursuing cooking as a profession or being the better cook, then they should be cool with pursing cooking as a way to continue family traditions. Why hold so tightly to the idea that it's the woman that's slacking and not the men aren't stepping up? Family dinner is family dinner, regardless of who prepared it.

As far as my family dinners, it's women, but also far and few between due to some of the complaints mentioned. My brother is one of those men that don't bring anything, but leaves with a handful. There was a member here I spoke with offline and his sister would make dinner and he never brought anything. I told him he should at least bring some rolls or something. I don't come empty handed and if I do it's because I sent or giving money toward something. From a man's perspective, it's women slacking off, but from our perspective, men can come off ungrateful and it's not worth the effort and cost.

Most men don't know how to influence/encourage women to get them to do the things they need to do. All some know is barbaric tactics of shaking their fist in a womans face and hollering.

My grandmother and mother taught me how to cook. My grandfather taught me how to skin fish and fry it fresh out the pond when I visited the south. Its fcked up how a certain black generation let society pull them away from a productive heritage into a state of nothingness.

All fot chasing clout, clubbing, and dressing like a teenager we'll onto their middle aged years.
And some of the men in here promoting this type of behavior. A woman don't have to cook for a man, but its mandatory she knows how to cook for her children. So even if she worked 40+ hours in a week, that should be more of a reason to cook a meal on the weekend

A lot of these posters are basically saying that it is OK to feed kids Fast Food and unhealthy sodium filled foods, just cause the mother is tired. :stopitslime:

Hypertension proned overweight feminist are a public health hazard :picard:

Why won’t @DoJa stop playing and get himself a pawg.

Grandma Alice will make him apple pie and a rotisserie chicken and carrots on Sundays. @Bryan Danielson tell them how good pawg’s grandma food taste.

have you on some:

What about the "Spanish mami" he mentioned?

It's always refreshing to see some of the men presenting a more balanced approach to topics like these where the majority of posts are taking subtle and overt jabs at bw as a collective.

Along with some of the amazing men in my family, it reminds me not to feed too much into the negative stereotypes about the opposite gender. All hope isn't lost.

I'm not denying this, my point is that Italian men learn how to cook and carry on their family traditions. It's not a coincidence that "Italian men are the best cooks in the world" is a pretty common saying/stereotype. Even in pop culture...the men are cooking. Clemenza cooks in Godfather, multiple people cook in Goodfellas, etc. Yes the women cook, and yes a major staple of Italian American culture is the mother or grandma making "Sunday gravy" - pasta with meat that last days. But when mom/grandma is gone, her children carry on that tradition. Including her sons. That's not happening with African American culture, and it's certainly not happening with generic white American culture.

That's my entire point in this. If our concept of tradition is going to your mom's house, watching the game until the food is ready, and then taking your plate downstairs to watch the game with the fellas...that's not sustainable culture in this country. At that point you are nothing more than an observer of culture. You contribute nothing. You make a plate and leave. Often times you don't even help clean the dishes. Men who do that don't give a fukk about culture. And when they get older, are unmarried, don't have children (or have children out of wedlock)...they let the culture die because mom and grandma passed away x years ago.
In alot of the carribean, men are the Cooks and are better cooks than the women.
Go to any jamaican restaurant a few other islans and it's always the men in the back cooking. Just throwing a side bar cuz of the Italian men comment

Seems like black men stay under attack.

That's just how business works. An individual saw an opportunity to make money and took it. That's the beauty of capitalism I guess.

It made everyone :flabbynsick: to unforeseen levels in modern world history. Thats a tragedy.

Especially for people that cannot cook. Back in the day, not being able to cook forced them to make AN ATTEMPT to cook or learn how to make a balanced diet. All that fast food when it finally gotten cheap, was made people have even less incentive to work the stove. That led to these bytches having hypertension and high blood pressure with excess fat. And they feeding their kids the same garbage.

Sitting here with the expectation that men fufill our gender roles and do the bare minimum of our job and not reciprocated is the issue.

I come from a Carribean family, as does my wife. Plenty of men cook, however it's still women who cook the most.

How can you say they do this more than black men? I'm not denying, I just don't get how you're able to compare. Where's the data? I know Italians are very traditional. The males stay at home and have moms cook for them and they move out when they meet a woman and get married. Very traditional..so I'm trying to understand how the men do most of the cooking there. I just don't see it and I know plenty of Italians.

Alot of men are stuck in old paradigms and alot of em abuse it because they want women to be their second mother. Gotta call a spade a spade. Everyone working now, take turns cooking Sunday dinner.

If they refuse to cook why should I really give a damn? I'm not dating them, I'm not married to em. That's their preference and I have no qualms with them.

Reciprocate only becomes an issue when you put up with their minimum asses
