I do wonder about people that do this. It's not so much pocket watching as it is, how much are you sacrificing other things to drive that car? I currently drive a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer. I'm not a car person but I'll spend a bit. When I see Benzes, BMWs, Audis, etc and then I see the person driving it, it makes me wonder about how they prioritize their finances. I make clear over 6 figures. The average person does not. I'm always reminded of the time when I was younger and this former associate of mine went and got a Lexus. However, at his apartment, the nikka had furniture from Big Lots and Styrofoam plates and cups.
Everybody is free to what they want to do with their money but so many people do the wrong thing with their money. Purchasing wants are cool when you can sustain it. Doing it to maintain a perceived lifestyle is utterly stupid.
