Ok this may very well be ducktales like the other post but someone on Gaf (yeah I know) contacted the man who wrote the WSJ article and this is what he said:

This is from Takashi Mochizuki the man who posted the Wall Street Journal article, he just responded to my email that I sent him regarding the "Industry Leading Chips" quote, here it is:

-Several people who said who have seen a demo said what they saw is impossible to run on a computer without a "industry-leading" or "cutting-edge" chips. Cutting-edge in what way, they refused to elaborate.
-And an important thing to remember, probably you know well already, is that chip specs won't be finalized until much closer date to the release.

Imagine a next gen Zelda with highly detailed graphics but in that huge open world(without filler of course)??
Man it'd be a beauty.

Idk about y'all, but it kills me that we went through TWO, NOT ONE BUT TWO!!! gens with underpowered Nintendo consoles compared to the rest of the competition.

Like seriously, Nintendo literally stayed back a grade. In 2006 when the Wii dropped, that should've been something on par with the 360 or even better. Instead it was like two gamecubes duck taped together.

They finally decided to enter the HD era at the end of the gen they should've already been started. The Wii U is like someone buying a chirp phone today.

Hopefully we hear of this soon.

Earlier Wii U leaks indicated that it would be a significant step up from the PS3 and 360 and it ended up being barely above the 360.

The NX console could still very well end up right between or on par with Xbone in terms of power.

But man if what that guy saying is true and the hardware doesn't get downgraded then.

Idk... I'm leaning more towards that admin at the Nintendo forums and that link that corroborates the "powerful shyt" the Nitendo admin spoke about.

Man the thought of a classic Nintendo console with a modernized, streamlined GUI, modern hardware and third party games is a dream

Call it for what it is Nintendo will always be just a C student in the console race. Their glory days arw behind them, dont get me wrong I see the Wii U has some dope games but the majority of their good titles are on the fukkin handheld system
