those are the direct to the customer videos that inform people what Nintendo is doing on their Youtube channel. if you actually pay attention to Nintendo and haven't heard of Nintendo Direct that's a head scratcher.

I'm a PC gamer, I don't pay attention to any one console. If whatever info that's on Nintendo Direct doesn't pop up on any of the various gaming sites I go to, it's obviously not very important. If it does, then I have no reason to seek out Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo announces the games that are supposed to get people excited about their systems through Nintendo Direct. The fact that potential customers who are avid video game fans have no idea it exists is just one example of how Nintendo is fukking up.
Oh. Like that "Zelda" shyt from a week ago? I seen it on Game Trailers or another site. Had no idea Nintendo even had their own Youtube channel.

you guys are getting into the business side of things, but the fact remains is that e3 is still the biggest event. Whether the hardcore crowd (such as ourselves) question whether its as big as its heyday is not the issue here. Its the fact that Nintendo as it usually does, arrogantly makes these moves even with the Wii U selling like shyt. e3 is big enough for Microsoft and Sony to come out swinging, but Nintendo cant hold a press conference to show its latest games? That makes no sense to me.
On top of that? For them to say that Nintendo Direct is the answer when someone like you doesn't even know what it is? That is already a warning sign...you are going to market to....Nintendo fanboys?
How can you possibly grow with that strategy with Sony and Microsoft blasting everywhere against each other? Then again this IS NINTENDO with their ass backwards internet setup on their systems.
But they are having a press conference though. The article only says they are not having a large scale which could mean they are either 1) having a small conference focusing on on the games or 2) no presentation and just booth time with the games. I don't have a problem with this especially if the focus is more on the games.

in other related news i decided to upgrade my Wii U to the latest software. that was around 8. its 10 and the update actually finished downloading like 15 minutes ago and is 62% installed.

this is how i feel. i dont really give a fukk about a conference, all i need to know is that the games are coming and which games they are since the only thing preventing me from copping a wii u is the lack of games. lets say they show Q4 release dates for mario 3d, mario kart, xenoblade sequal, smash bros, (zelda would be nice but i know that aint coming till 2014), im copping, soon as those titles drop.
i really dont give a fukk about nintendo direct either, i aint tryna watch iwata struggling to explain what is so great about miiverse. but i know that gaming media gets info from those videos and i get info from gaming media websites, so if thats how they want to release their info, im cool with that.
at the end of the day the best conference/nintendo direct presentation in the world dont mean shyt if they dont release any new games. if they want to focus on software right now, thats the best news i have heard regarding wii u in a long time.

those people are no longer accessible to nintendo, they are not actual gamers. their wii was a beanie baby to them. that was a fad nitnendo could never rely on for the long haul.
nintendo now has to go back to marketing to gamers, and this is just one more in a long line of bad decisions. they needed to show off games in development to gamers who know what a wii u is but think it is trash. the content would need to be enough to change that opinion. i think nintendo released the wii u too early thinking that they needed the lack of competition to help them breathe, now they are lowering expectations for E3 to continue avoiding head to head competition.
