Here's Nintendo's dilemma. You keep putting out trash consoles back to back and as they come out and people get 3-4 games in an entire generation that they feel are must own when the next console comes out more and more people just cut their losses and go Man I only really cared for about 4 games on the Wii U and I had it since launch. I'm gonna pass on the next one. At some point people stop caring about what they're missing and the market as a whole becomes apathetic to them.

That's how Nintendo who is a known quantity and one of the largest brands in gaming put out a home console that struggled to pass 13 million in it's life. It wasn't bad marketing or product confusion because at some point it became clear what the Wii U was and people still didn't buy it.

It's like your favorite rapper going commercial to appeal to the masses. His base fanbase looks at him funny and many of them abandon him and the commercial market is trendy and fickle. They might embrace him for a song or two buy they aren't loyal fans and will move on. When they leave and he basically dissed his fans to appeal to them what is he left with?

Bruh companies need stockholders investing in them to survive. Sitting on cash is bad businesss cause you need to investing that cash for profits

We all want Nintendo to succeed but the truth is Nintendo has no clue what they're doing

and I lost it when they started talking about using a phone app for online chat

you have to pay for a service on your console to use an app on your phone to chat using said phone while playing a game

The kind of people they're trying to get to buy their consoles aren't ever going to be loyal customers. At some point the shareholders will demand a different strategy from Nintendo if they keep putting out consoles that flop.

This whole myth that Nintendo can put out failed console after failed console because they have cash in the bank is ridiculous.

It's one thing to charge for online play but have they lost their mind?? How much is the online going to be?? Why charge but give paltry incentives(Free game per month for a month), having party chat via phone app etc. It's mind boggling stupid. People saying "Oh but there's Zelda at launch!" like wow there's Zelda at launch. I can get it for the Wii U and literally have the almost exact same experience. What's the difference?? Play anywhere? That's not worth $300 especially with the hardware being virtually the same. This is the most disappointed I have ever been in an Nintendo product. I hope they slash the price $50 and start dropping lots of content because right now I'm not interested at all.

I locked down a preorder for one at Best Buy and the special edition of Zelda at Gamestop. Not sure if I will commit come release day but wanted to have one preordered just in case...always can cancel at anytime.

I want that Master Edition of Zelda so hopefully BestBuy will get those preorders up with GC.

It's true. Nintendo is sitting on billions and is sometimes way too frugal with their money. Even if Switch doesn't make their sales goals they still have more than enough room to fukk up again. They've been around for over a century.

Here's my prediction, in about three year's time there will be a 2nd version of the switch with longer battery life and improved graphics.

I'm still getting it sometime this year because the new Mario game is Switch exclusive.

Well if you want the new Mario it comes out at the end of the year and a price drop before that releases is unlikely.

They could have a bundle for it though

As a matter of fact I think I'll wait to see how Zelda BOTW runs on the Wii U Emulator. I rather emulate that shyt than to buy the Switch. this reveal/launch is looking even WORSE than the Xbox 1.
