I will never forget that Cowboys game :wow: Stafford looked like he was throwing to 8ft tall receivers throughout the first half. Then Romo went into the locker room at the half like "He thinks that's fukking up. I'll show him fukking up :smugbiden:".
:deadrose:all the Cowboys had to do was not turn the ball over. Hell they coulda took a knee on 2nd down:heh: and won.

But romo threw pick six instead. Matter of fact didn't he throw 2 pick six:ahh:

In theory the Green Bay game plan was right. You coming out against 5 and 6 man fronts you suppose to run the ball but they couldn't and never stopped trying. Bills did the same thing but orton started connecting on passes but Rodgers was getting more pressure and not completing his throws. It's still interesting that teams haven't just said fukk it we can't run so we bout to spread yall out and just throw it.

I think lombardi is trying to treat Stafford like the saints do drew Brees and expect him to make the right decision quickly. I talk to a few people that went to the bills game, they all say Stafford had receivers open but he never seen em and kept taking sacks. You can't fault Lombardi if Stafford not making his reads. Stafford seems to have a 1 option or check down to the running back. Maybe 2 or 3 times in a game you can see him hit a receiver for a check down. The one pass to the rb in the article stafford stared Winn down the whole time and still threw it to him with 2 linebackers in the area.

:whoa: Slow down with the rozay to d jax comparison :skip: Ross has played well but if it was him or broyles either one of em should be eating with Tate and Calvin and bush on the field.

I give the bills d line credit for getting 6 sacks but atleast half of them was because Stafford held onto the ball too long. Throw it away fool:damn:

Whenever Calvin is not playing, he plays like he's been photobombed onto a football field when he's lined up behind center. He's a game manager with a big arm. The sooner our management gets that, then we can move on. That's why we run so much shotgun, he needs that extra time to process. He's not quick enough mentally to QB competently in this league.

But game managers can't be paid 20 million a season.

So, while on lunch at work, as I am presently. I'm just chilling in my office, getting my daily dose of news of us playing the Vikings. I see this and I know this topic and I sound like a broken record but.......

There’s no doubt that Detroit is the better team and has been over the past few years, but Minnesota has still found a way to win three of the last four meetings. The Lions just need to do a better job of simplifying the offense so quarterback Matthew Stafford does not have too much pressure on him to win games.

I damn near choked on my lunch.

Someone at work this morning was trying to say Stafford just needs more time to develop. I said, "another six years?" :playoffs?:

People get so infatuated with the yards breh. I just lurk on the RoarDigest because I'd spaz if i ever registered at all of these apologists. This is a great comment from a poster there, concerning what you've said.

Maybe you're right. Actually, I hope you're right! But 6 years of evidence points to the idea that Stafford is who he is. He isn't "growing" or "learning". He's a 6 year veteran, and a 26 year old adult man. Remember the 2013 off season? Stafford stayed in Detroit all year, and had "the keys to the facility" Everyone had a huge boner because Stafford was putting in all that extra off season time and his 2013 would be so much better than his disappointing 2012. Well he started well and then played an extremely bad second half of the season. His 2013 was as bad as his 2012. This year, its the new amazing coaching staff, and Lombardi, the "Stafford Whisperer" who are going to make Stafford into Brees, Rogers, or Manning.

It's nice to have hope and to think positively, but it's looking more and more like Stafford is the exact same guy he was in 2010 (when he was briefly healthy), 2011,2013. An up and down, streaky QB who can at times look very bad and at times look very good. He actually looked better in 2010 (in the few games he was healthy) and 2011 than he does now.

Also, can we PLEASE STOP being proud or putting value in how many yards the guy throws for every year? It means nothing. Yardage is nice, IF you have a high completion %, a high TD to INT ratio, and a boatload of wins, but its by far the least important of the bunch. In my opinion, his 2011 season was so good because of his 41:16 TD to INT ratio, and getting the Lions into the playoffs, not because of the 5K yards. Anyone can throw the ball a bunch of times and inflate yardage.

I post on there from time to time, but can't do it consistently because the majority of that board defends everything the Lions do. It's never anyone's fault on the team or within the organization. Every pick is a good one. If you're critical of anyone you're being a prick, etc.

I know. I've always been the type to feel the vibe of a place before i register. I keep up with some threads but their willingness to overlook obvious things would infuriate me. So, I post on the Coli mostly and text my father after certain plays.

As expected, the Detroit Lions will be without both running back Reggie Bush and wide receiver Calvin Johnson on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Both players are dealing with ankle injuries, and both players are out after missing practice all week.

Johnson's absence has really been a few weeks in the making. He was limited in the last two games, so much so that he was really a decoy more than anything. When a pass was finally thrown in his direction last week, he aggravated his injury -- a high-ankle sprain -- and now he's being shut down for at least one week.

As for Bush, he actually was questionable coming into Sunday despite not practicing all week. There was an outside chance of him playing as a result, but the Lions have decided to sit him as well this week. With Joique Bell and Theo Riddikk both back on Sunday after missing a game, the Lions should be able to handle the loss of Bush on Sunday, but making up for the loss of both him and Johnson will obviously be tough to pull off.

Here's the full list of inactives for the Lions:

QB Kellen Moore
RB Reggie Bush
WR Calvin Johnson
TE Joseph Fauria
OT Garrett Reynolds
DE Larry Webster
LB Travis Lewis
