the ironic thing about people using Hope Solo as a "what about her?" is that for years the major professional sports leagues have had domestic violence issues and its been quiet or put by the wayside. Not nary a peep about it. Nothing.

I wasn't meant to be loaded. I asked specifically about public perception because that is what the article is about and that is what the supposed outrage is about. If anything the question was flawed in that I gave people the simple phrase "domestic violence is domestic violence" which probably clicked off the "wrong is wrong" in their head instead of causing them to think critically about distinguishing. I'm still shocked at this poll though, I made it anonymous on purpose to see where people REALLY stood. The coli really is the home of the IT cert having, hard on hoes clique.

But what's disturbing to me is how poorly read a lot of people are. @GoFlipAPack and @mrken12 literally said that (a) they had to skim and article that small and (b) that one of the best cultural racial commentators today must have some ulterior motive in mentioning famous black people so they won't even read the substance of what he's saying. It's just some childish, "these are our heroes and we don't want you saying their names in a piece involving Hope Solo and domestic violence so we're going to ignore you."

Honeslty IMO wrong is wrong and should be seen that way. Now if you want to give different punishments depending on the wrong ok but just switching wrongs don't think will ever work. Its the genesis of a lot of problems with race, religion, etc. Somebody thinks somebody else is getting preferential treatment because of their race, sex, religion, etc and then starts the resentment, bitterness, and all the other problems that not being consistent on similar issues bring.
I know its utopian but the best solution is to treat similar things similar and it will save a lot of junk IMO and if you not going to do that at least if you going to say this is what you stand for don't be flimsy about it like the media has shown with the Ray rice, AP, Hope Solo stories. I don't think that means somebody is HOH or anything.
