How you gonna be best player of your era and you can't bring home a gold Olympic medal? How you gonna be supposedly better than your conference rival, and hes been to more finals than you?

Who was on that Olympic team when they didnt get the gold?
Who was on the redeem team?

Stop making yourself look like an ass. Kobes been to 7 finals. Duncan, 5. Since you want to talk about how many 50 win seasons and playoff appearances he has, why less appearances on the grand stage?

Duncan has less losses as well. :manny:

But you brought it up. So what was the point?

You misinterpreted what I said. I said the Lakers put talent around Kobe when he asked for it, Duncan just happened to get players who ended up flourishing around him. That's the difference, I didn't use it as a knock on Kobe.... :rudy:

05-05 :shaq2: are you sure you want to say that? Keep in mind we are comparing a big and a guard here. Dont get foolish.

Somehow this gets lost when people were arguing that Duncan being an elite big man in 2010 or whatever means the same thing as Kobe being a top 3 player period when the best players in the NBA are nearly all wing players.

Let me ask you something, if Joe Johnson was averaging 20 5 and 5 and he was giving you the best SG numbers in the league and Kobe was averaging 18 5 and 5

and Tim Duncan is giving you 26 and 12 and other big men are giving you 25 and 10 and 24 and 12, would compare their dominance relative to their position and the NBA in general remotely the same that year....:what:

So how were Duncan fans allowed to get away with that shyt all of last week by using that "still a top big man argument" in the worst era for big men in the history of the NBA....:wtf:

Nobody has argued Tim Duncan was better than Kobe Bryant since 05 BTW, stop it. Duncan was still top 3 to 5 up until 2008, but that was the beginning of that Kobe-LeBron (and sometimes Wade) argument. Stop it.

Duncan averaged 20 and 11 in the 2008 playoffs on 45% shooting (as a big man) Kobe was averaged 30 6 and 6 on 48% (even after Boston). This hasn't been worth discussing for 5 years.

So its his fault the team was some shyt now? '05 he got injured and the coach quit, '06-'07 the team around him was some shyt, this year we had injuries, a cokehead running basketball operations and we replaced a coach that should of never been hired with the scum of the basketball world, gtfoh Duncan had all this stability and all these winning seasons and yall JUST tying LA in titles for the era?! IF Kobe had that same level of stability he woulda retired with 8 rings a long fukkin time ago.

Your an idiot. In fact, Kobe '06 season >>> Duncan stealing J-Kidd's MVP, your man got 1 MVP just like Kobe as far as I'm concerned.

Stop it. Duncan didn't steal a MVP from Jason Kidd

Duncan's 2002 season: 25.5 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 51% from the field, 58 wins

Kidd: 14.7 ppg, 9.9 apg, 39%from the field, 50 wins

Kobe fans like to mention that Duncan wasn't a top 10 player from 09 to 12, but Duncan made up for it by being a 5 top player from 98 to 2000. When Kobe wasn't anywhere close to that level. So Duncan does have great longevity that's very comparable to Kobe's.

This will be ignored:steviej:

Exactly. You can't answer the question because it goes against earlier arguments made for Tim. "Duncan won with no superstars". Ok great. Wheres the gold medal? "He didn't have much help".

yea but your talking about the OLYMPICS. A team composed of 12-15 of the BEST players in the NBA
