It has more to to do with the actual music.

Wayne never really did trap music.

Kanye's influence undoubtedly has transcended music and gone into clothing and whatnot, and he does have his artist offshoots, but the connections aren't as strong.

808 Mafia ,Zaytoven and Metro Boomin all come from the Gucci umbrella (808 Mafia came up under Waka...Gucci protege).

3 years ago Gucci dropped 3 different mixtapes with 3 different producers..fast forward to 2015 and there have been 4 different rappers this year to do Zaytoven only tapes
