Not only this but just look at who the hottest producers are right now.

808 Mafia ,Zaytoven and Metro Boomin all come from the Gucci umbrella (808 Mafia came up under Waka...Gucci protege).

3 years ago Gucci dropped 3 different mixtapes with 3 different producers..fast forward to 2015 and there have been 4 different rappers this year to do Zaytoven only tapes :banderas:

He's got like four Zaytoven only tapes himself too.

Ice Attack series :wow:

Don't judge a rap based on whether or not it's actually good (flow, lyrics, creativity etc.)
just whether or not you like the message brehs.

If I did that my library would be filled with garbage.

lolWhat ?

Post-Kanye there were DOZENS of rappers doing the "New Back Pack Rapper" style.
Phil Ade, Wale, Charles Hamilton, XV, Kid Cudi and rappers I've probably forgotten in the past seven years.
Were all getting push on blogs and all had a similar "Back pack", "Average joe" style of lyricism AND attire
not to mention heavily sampled beats.

Kendrick has never been a "Wayne Clone".
He did ONE mixtape INTENTIONALLY using Wayne's flow and even on that tape
he invokes Method Man and Eminem.
Method Man?

Kendrick invoked Andre 3000 and Lil Wayne with a little bit of Eminem. Dude been giving it up to Wayne and has Tha Block is Hot as one of his favorite albums. How can you listen to this and not hear a guy trying to rap like Wayne?

How can you pretend to know what you're talking about ? That's my question :dahell:

The guy has several projects out, has done cuts with Rock/Ab-Soul/Q where they EXPLICITLY
mimic the flows of Biggie, Jay, Eminem etc.
WHY ?
Because they do the knowledge, they've studied the greats extensively.
If you think it stops at Wayne then it's clear you don't know what you're talking about..at all...

Calling dude a "Wayne Clone" is as bad as "Andre 3K" clone. It really shows who's listening
and who isn't

Also on the C4 tape he mimics Method man/Eminem on "West Coast Wu-Tang"

I heard that first joint and the C4 mixtape. That first tape I believe has a remix over Hova Song if I'm not mistaken wasn't too impressed by it.

When did I say clone? Kendrick is a well noted Lil Wayne stan many quotes praising the fukkk out of Lil Wayne, calling him a huge influence. He's not a clone but is surely more Wayne and 3000 inspired than Method Man. C'mon now the Buried Alive Interlude on Take Care sounds just like 3000. The whole frantic delivery is clearly Wayne/Eminem inspired.

I put Gucci in the line of "Slick Rick" MC's...lyrical enough to stand the test of time but saucy and wavy enough for classic recognition...snoop also exists in this line...Gucci's imprint can't be ignored tho:ehh:

"Stan" ? Stop it. He's a fan yes, but a stan ? No. :snoop:
He's also a fan of Jay-Z and Biggie as well, he's also quoted them several times (so have other TDE/Black Hippy) artists.
If anything I'd say "Buried Alive" is obviously Eminem/Andre3K inspired because Wayne has never rapped like that especially
the Wayne that Kendrick has been influenced by which is clearly C1/C2/C3/The Suffix/The Prefix/Dedication Series etc. Wayne.
That style was/still is heavily focused on Punch Lines and a simpler flow.

I'm finding it hard to believe that you listened to those tapes (outside of C4) and his other work
if you or anyone else is really trying to run with the "He just copies wayne" statements.
I mean hell I'd have a hard time believing you guys have extensively listened to Wayne's 04/05/06/07/08 work
if you're saying he raps like Eminem. :dead:

I've listened to plenty of Wayne (from all eras), just not very much Kendrick. From from the outset though, no one's made a claim that he draws from Gucci. Whether or not he draws from Wayne, Andre or Em really doesn't matter here though; he's one artist among a plethora today who do follow in Gucci's footsteps.

In other words, arguing by whom exactly was/is Kendrick influenced is kind of beside the point.
