I think the problem is that NY rappers are so use to using their friendships and connections to get they're music played on the radio that they dont understand that times have changed. Unless you have sum type of buzz for a record on the street or the net they're not goin to put it in rotation no matter who you are. Whens the last time NY radio broke a record anyway?

Son it don't matter it we got buzz on the net or the streets..they don't play cats like Action Bronson like that..or Troy Ave..son..they didn't even barely play NAS last year man..dude had a Grammy nominated album...THEY DONT SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS...u can go to ATL and hear nikkas u never heard before on the radio..cause they support local artists..it's not just about blowin up or having a hit..it's when ur not even getting played locally..it makes it THAT MUCH HARDER to get play anywhere else..

The fact that a NY DJ can get FIRED for not sticking to the approved playlist says it all. U have to blow elsewhere to get the cosign from NY, but other places won't jump on your wave until you get a cosign from home. shyt is damn near nikkas need to get at Ebro for that "grind harder" bullshyt

Yea I feel u..they need to support the new young artists definitely..it's especially not fair to them..even wit ASAP Rocky blowin up..it took for someone outside of the city to help him for him to get out there..NY don't break artists..they just dikkride..ESPECIALLY Hot 97...that station is fukkin disgusting..but I feel they should support our artists old or new..just restore the feeling that we atleast fukkin live here..lol

Ebro calling artists "minor league" and teling people they records ain't hot when they played "Pretty Boy Swag" by Soulja Boy non-stop, knowing it was trash is critically disrespectful in my opinion.

Ebro is an expert in talking circles around people. He'll be far away from the whole scene by the time the whole radio jig is up.

Ebro is a bit disengenious and I feel as a programmer director he hides behind "market research"....which we all know can be manipulated. But Emmis Communications (Hot 97 owners) are a private corporation and they can choose to run their business however they want.

I do see where he's coming from with his "major vs minor leagues" talk. There needs to be levels and tiers in this industry.
