there was always an inherited east coast bias. so most artists from other regions got downplayed in some form, and alot of artists kinda got ignored.

BUT LETS KEEP IT REAL. EVERY REGION DOES THIS.

yall think the south gives a f*ck about any other music scene outside of certain rappers?

these west coast, midwest and southern posters be frontin like they have some type of union. the midwest is probably the only region that really listens to everybody.

go down south and ask about a nipsey hustle mixtape, and your answer will be "thats that west coast chit".

So y'all played Cali music and Pac and Cube had it all wrong when they said y'all didn't play West Coast shyt on the airwaves?
Of course

How the fukk would some Cali nikkas know what does and doesnt get played on NYC radios

Im an NYC nikka and my first rap purchase was The Chronic. NYC had mad love for Cali and Cali had love for NYC. Pac flew the fukking Boot Camp Click out to Cali to record some joints with them my nikka. He was just showing out for his boss. The loudest mouthed NYC hater was really looking to make peace. Dont believe the hype.

There are a lot of nikkas from other regions who are damn near busting nuts at the sight of NY being in a weak state. Thats probably the saddest shyt of all. NY has always had love for every region. As soon as the budgets opened up in the late 90s nikkas got to traveling and collaborating. Its not like in the early to mid 90s everyone was collaborating except the East. Everything was more local and NYC just happened to have a little more reach/influence. So please miss me with this "NYC didnt fukk with anybody" bullshyt, you have no fukking idea what youre talking about.

Yeah, I agree. Who is Major? An artist who gets a cosign but hasn't paid any dues, just got a good cosign. Is Chance the Rapper and Migos Majors and NORE a minor league artist?

NORE has hits and some classic songs. In Ebro's definition he's a minor league artist. Fabolous too. Minor leagues by Ebros definition.

Now you have Rich Homie Quan. He is a Major league artist by the definition. So Any newcomer getting played on the radio in the South is Major and artists who have had hits and previously been played on the radio who are now not as relevent are back to the minors and need to "keep working".

Dude Ebro makes no sense. It's a shame that no one who is knowledgable has ever challenged him. Combat Jack tried but kind of sold out and let Ebro talk all over him. Remember when Combat Jack was pressing him about why NY radio sounds like that? Next thing he on Combat Show not being challenged and next thing Combat Jack and them are VIP guests at Hot 97 events lol.

Ain't no one gonna challenge anyone in this industry when it's so easy to quiet the opposing voices.

Same with NORE. If they start spinning his record tomorrow I guarantee he wouldn't have anything else to say and would probly start Saluting and Big upping Ebro.......

Combat Jack is not an artist...he's not gonna put his neck on the line for NY artists who themselves are sucking dikk and trying to be politically correct. Only people that are gonna speak out are the affected.

He shouted Troy Ave out fam.

Busta is his brother, its not strange for brothers to stick together. Again if ALL you took away from that whole interview was that one point that you aren't even right on youre an idiot.

The 2 biggest east coast labels ever never signed a west coast rapper (Badboy, Rocafella). Them nikkas used to openly mock the west coast on the air according to Pac and Cube. I wasn't there but I'll take them nikkas words for it.

They didnt sign anybody nikka Death Row East didnt even come to be, Pac died 6 days later my nikka.

And yea, like I said, Pac was about unifying, but he was also on some bullshyt too. In any case the West Coast is in no way innocent in the East Coast West Coast thing. Just stop it

U mean NY radio right?
Naw the whole genre breh shyt is fukked up

No identity... everyone is either running to the south or on the past's dikk

nikkas who try to progress the game (Max B for example) get clowned for stupid shyt while old nikkas (Jay Z for example) get passes for continually putting out garbage off the strength of music they made 10, 15, 20 years ago

I cant fukking take it breh I have to leave it alone.
