Naw the whole genre breh shyt is fukked up

No identity... everyone is either running to the south or on the past's dikk

nikkas who try to progress the game (Max B for example) get clowned for stupid shyt while old nikkas (Jay Z for example) get passes for continually putting out garbage off the strength of music they made 10, 15, 20 years ago

I cant fukking take it breh I have to leave it alone.
:usure:Max B got love from fans all over the tristate, he had a crazy buzz but it was NY radio that didnt show him love because Jim Jones was blackballing him plus the fact that he was in a fukked up contract that he didnt get out of until he got locked up.. he tried doing the same thing with French Montana but the buzz was too big and he was never signed to Jim Jones so he got around it

I will admit to being a CNN 'stan' I bumped the fukk out of the war report in high school, I love some of Nore's solo shyt.....

This is the same fukking guy who tried to jump on the Reggaeton bandwagon to get spins. Now I am not saying that what New York radio is doing isn't fukked up, we had the EXACT SAME problem out in Los Angeles for the longest time, but he has NO ROOM to talk. He completely changed his style to cater to what the dance music masses wanted to hear. How is NORE going Reggaeton for listeners any different than HOT97 going SOUTH for listeners?

lol I made the same face when I first read that :russ:

Come on fam, Bad Boy signed Yung Joc and Gorilla Zoe my nikka. You mean to tell me they couldn't sign a nikka from the west like Game?

i thought you were referring to bad boy when it actually mattered.

youre talking about bad boy when it had no identity. and i believe they were more of a facillitator for block ent.

but regardless, whats your point? they signed southern rappers and werent obligated to do that either. its like youre trying to strong-arm west rappers onto labels or something.

I'm painting a picture of NY's disdain for the west at the time.

So y'all played Cali music and Pac and Cube had it all wrong when they said y'all didn't play West Coast shyt on the airwaves?
Basically..we played PAC...Cube..Snoop..Luniz..Crucial Conflict..Outkast..Warren G..all that shyt fam...shyt we even played 95 South n all that down south booty music n shyt like Daisy Dukes and My Boo...son.. It's a myth and while u had cats that hated on outta state shyt .on a people level.. People fukked wit all kinds of hip hop..and by the time the late 90s hit it was a wrap..No. Limit and Cash Money was huge up here..non NY artists got love and while there was a bias u can say that about EVERY region..

there was always an inherited east coast bias. so most artists from other regions got downplayed in some form, and alot of artists kinda got ignored.

BUT LETS KEEP IT REAL. EVERY REGION DOES THIS.

yall think the south gives a f*ck about any other music scene outside of certain rappers?

these west coast, midwest and southern posters be frontin like they have some type of union. the midwest is probably the only region that really listens to everybody.

go down south and ask about a nipsey hustle mixtape, and your answer will be "thats that west coast chit".
EXACTLY!!..every region had bias..only one I can think of myself that was least bias was the Midwest...u took the words right outta my mouth fam...and I'm a dude that went to different states all the time cause I had family all over..I saw the shyt first hand..

nore was pushing for reggaeton, rather than just hoppin on the bandwagon.

its not like reggaeton ever really blew up.

granted, he may have thought that it was gonna be huge, but he took a risk with that at the end of the day, and that was really the end of him.

youre not making any points here tho dog. i mean, what west coast rappers wouldve fit in with bad boy or rocafella? you never answered that.

and all that east/west stuff was dead by the time rocafella started poppin. i dont even know why you mentioned them. especially seeing that they revived the dogg pound for a few months with that "change the game remix". even had them on stage performing it at the soul train awards.

and didnt suge & them give sam sneed the beats because he had "too many east coast niccas in his videos"?

and pittsburgh isnt really seen as east coast like that. its more midwestern. but thats neither here nor there right now. besides they did sign BDK and others, in fairness.

New York don't support. When I visited my peoples down in Atlanta years ago, radio was playing nikkas I never heard in my fukkin life :wtf: All local ATL stuff. I heard Shoulder Lean months before they played it back up north. And a bunch of other songs too. Hot97, Power105 and Power99 aren't playing local cats like that.
